Caro was a new sexy kind of hot with her new haircut. Grrrr.

I caught the Hutchy bit. Hilarious it was.

Earlier in the show he was defending St Kilda's decision to recruit Andrew Lovett.

Hutchy is seriously underrating us if he thinks that is the worst draft choice we've ever made. We have flair and depth when it comes to stuffing up in the draft. Somehow singling out McPhee as the "worst ever" is neglecting so much of our history.

You'll have to forgive my failure to remember names, but there was some bloke who'd played about 265,000 games without injury for Port (or some other club), but when we got him, he was injured most of the time and a shadow of his former self.

Then there was Mitsopoulous (or some variation of southern European name). He'd be hard to top. Worse still, we got him from the mob up the road. How embarrassing.

Hutchy, Hutchy, Hutchy, don't sell us short! Do your research....

Good old Smucktchy, if he was a Russian doll he'd be a goose within a goose within a goose.

I can name a dozen worse trade choices off the top of my head...here are some examples:

Brad Smith --> Slime. Gee, he worked out well for the mob up the road eh?

Troy Longmuir --> Caaaarlton. The Baggers got value for money out of that one.

Warrick Capper --> Bears. Super move, he was a hit.

Andrew Lovatt --> Cheats. Say no more. Although I have to admit he was a good cultural fit alongside Milne and co.

John Hewson --> Opposition Leader. He got done slowly.

Not only all the above, but he's a dirty little weasle too...

He was lurking outside Richmond last year waiting for Terry Wallace to emerge after one of the meetings they had just before he got sacked. Wallace came out the door and was confronted by 'Hutchy', who said something like 'How do you feel about the descision Terry?', obviously thinking he was already gone.
Wallace hadn't been sacked (that time) and our mate Hutchy was left looking like a vulture whose prey had just been rescued by an ambulance.

(Wallace goes and gets a win against us with the last kick a week later, THEN gets sacked...)

I blame Hutchy for that too....

Come on Hutchey - we know you read this as part of your exhaustive research. Give us both barrels on the Footy Show tonight. I dare you to quote Dockerland, you chinless non-entity.

Hutchy still pouting and I hate his snide cynical guts as much as anyone......but was he right?

The lowest possession winner of 44 players on the ground. 6 disposals, 3 marks, 1 tackle. 25 Dream Team points.

Even Rory "Who the hell are you?" Sloan and Jared "Black Russian" Petrenko had more disposals. Not exactly household names.

I know you can't sack a player on one bad performance, but he's been mediocre for weeks now, and with 2 years and 21 rounds left, I can't help but think it's another Mark Johnson / Jarrod Schofield situation.

Based upon last night's team is there room for him in the backline? No. Midfield? No. Forward line? No.

Why would you play him when Pearce and Dodd, Schammer and Palmer, Murphy and De Boer are waiting for a game?

No, Hutchy was wrong. Lyon and Caro were right and it's clear Hutchy has a thing for Freo.

one of the worst recruiting moves of all time

not even close...

I wasn't really that disappointed with Flinchy, I would like to think that he now has to re-evaluate where he actually is in this side, which was probably 15-22, though no doubt he originally considered himself higher in the pecking order. All good really.

I did go crook at him when he propped in front of a markable ball, allowing it to bounce when he has a slight break on his opponent and he was the only man in the chain. All other 17 purple men on the field would have gone full-chested at that ball, and died trying to mark it. Ballantyne would have gouged a hole in the ground like a ripper on a D9, and marked it to boot. It was...poor.

To his credit, the next aerial battle he met the football with everything and marked it well under pressure.

Will be much better for the run.

Don't forget he came to the club via the pre-season draft. I think he is behind the other players, he will as Blocker said be better for the run.

And so what if he doesn't work out, what did you spend to get him? Nothing.

That is the point of Hutchey's stupidity.

Not a hard question. Palmer walks back into the team when the coaching staff decide he's ready. When that time comes he can have anyone's place except for Pav's or Sandi's, so he's hardly competing with Flinchy.

Pearce, Dodd and Deboer will always be there or thereabouts for best-22 candidates. Murph'll kick lots of goals for Souths ... and Byron, I'm told, is considered a spunk rat, so I guess the chicky babes will be hanging out at Claremont for most of the year.

As for McPhee, it's true that he will no doubt continue to struggle to hit the side of a barn. Old dogs don't learn new tricks. But, as others have pointed out, we got him for the price of a ring-pull on a beer can, and there's little doubt that he provides useful cover for a number of options. He'll never compete for any individual player's position (if he did, he'd lose), but it's also undeniable that he didn't get to play at this level for the past 7 or 8 yrs by performing as he did on Sun night.

He's better than we've seen so far, and for now we ought to leave him alone and let him settle in.

As for Hutchy, I think it may be time for all of us to hit this link again:
