I'm convinced Pav will be a Docker for life. I seem to recall last time his contract expired he left it until the end of the season and there was mucho speculato.
Bearing in mind that his manager is advising him on this issue I'll hazard a guess that the advice was something along the lines of:
"If you feel you've got a big season in you then hold out on negotiating the new contract until the end of the year. By that time you'll have enhanced your value and you'll get better dollars."

well in the paper the other day it said 'pavlich in talks to home state' thats straight after i read on herald sun that he wasnt in any rush to sign. so thats why i thought oh no he's given up haha. dead set if he wants a GF all he has to do is sign for 3 more years and he'll have 1, maybe 2.

As I recall it, last time the papers were all full of Pav heading back to SA and Juddy-EyeGouger staying for life.
Don't believe too much from the medja, especially the hacks here in WA.

Actually, I'm fairly sure last time he said he would wait until the end of the year and all the media was saying he was going to leave but Chris "I couldn't imagine living anywhere but Claremont" Judd was going to stay at WC forever - however Pav ended up quietly signing during the season and we all know what happened to Mr Twigley.

Did anyone else notice last week that Glassy is not contracted beyond 2010 season? Surely this means he is going to the Gold Coast? Even though he said, "i love it here"? Let's start a big rumour and see how far it goes....
Really PavforPM i think (with respect) you'd have done better to sit on the question.
The Perth media are bad enough in continuing to stir this pot, while those east of Rawlinna are working off speculations that they grab from the nearest branch of the rumour tree.
How about we play round 1?

PavforPM the point is Pav has not re-signed because he shouldn't have to at this point; media speculation is not a legitimate trigger point to sign a new deal.
He has been very loyal to this club, we should acknowledge that loyalty by not speculating that he is going home 2/3 into a contract.
But when they do sit down to negotiate with him - offer him 4 years. A deal that no other club will be prepared to match; make it his last contract.
Freo should carry that risk as compensation for his loyalty and service and stuff whether it fits into the list management model.

Shane's right - Pav wants to know if this PavForPM knobber is serious about him becoming a double-talking bureaucrat, and if so, whether the job comes with a ute from Queensland and free entry into the Big Apple's high class knock shops. Until this is clarified, Pav is taking advice from Lemon and Wizfan about new recreational opportunities in Fremantle and has vowed to play in the forward line (until further notice).
