Hase
#299895
I would like to see him playing more down at forward pocket. He's got a great mark for his size, and great hands around the ball and a cool head around goal. Feeding off to Bally. Crumbing for his mate Pav. Slotting a few himself. Having a breather from chasin those younguns around in the fat part of the paddock. Best use of his skills...

I could agree with much of that until I think of the lack of experience we have in the mids.

True, we have enormous potential in the youngsters but they still need Chops' experience, skills and professionalism to show them the way. Once the Palmers, Hills and Morabitos get a few more seasons under their belts (along with a certain Ballantyne) then yes! Play him forward!

I reckon he would be worth at least 2 goals per game from the same number of inside 50s But for now. Don't leave the kids without a leader.

I think they should give him more time up forward as well . Give him a couple min per quarter up forward for sure

Not sure that is the reward he was after when he signed up to Jenny Craig.

This year he will lead the mids.

I don't think Hase is happy. Every time I've watched him play of late, he just doesn't seem to be enjoying himself any more.

What I reckon too. I love the bloke. I want to see that old smile on his face. I want some forward skills coach to take him aside and say - 'Hase, now you're a leading forward, we need you to build up your centre of gravity a bit, eat a few more pies, so you're steadier on your feet when the balls on the ground. Bugger the chasing young blokes around. We need to your polish and finish up forward. Take it easy, son. Your hands are great. Your nerves are steady. Give us 40 goals a year...'

Totally agree with that Merc, he's lost his mojo. Dirty on the club?

I think it is a bit too soon to judge him. I mean in 2009 he came back after missing all of 2008 and straight away became our highest possession getter by the end of the year. I think the club should of given him the two year contract he was after; regardless of policy he has been a loyal player.

I said the same thing last year and endorse it again.

Hase has been perhaps our most consistent player over the years. Deserved a two year deal and still does.

He's got a one year deal....hope he gets a BIG extension and a pay rise. Then spends his 'twilight' years kicking bagfuls up forward

I'm a worker who is a proven performer who's been the best worker in my department last year, and I got a 1 year contract extension...but then some guy from another organisation gets hired and given a 2 year contract despite the fact I'm a better peformer, and the fact the other guy has no relevant performance history with my organisation. I'd be p*ssed off. Think about it happening to you at your workplace... your resentment would grow and grow

I think Harves is a great coach and will see us through to our first premiership, but he has to cut back on the secret handshakes (essendon stylee) and keep our current list happy. Respect our legend The Hasleby for what he's been and will continue to be

IMO

PS I'm talking about Hase and McPhee if it needs spelling out

The whole reason they only gave hase a 1 year is they thought he would play better under the presure. Then they give McPhee a 3 year I don't get it hase is a far better player ther McPhee.
