Gets better all the time.

It really is the gift that keeps giving... thank whatever you like for little Johnny Ooftit...
"But he said AFL statisticians Champion Data ranked the Eagles at No.1 for disposal efficiency, so the club's issue was where they were making mistakes, not the number of them."
Who was it that said "I'm actually batting quite well, I just keep getting out..."
The downside of this is the crush on the speedwagon.

I find that quote amusing about disposal efficiency. In the west a couple days earlier they had stats ranking them 13th (from memory) in kicking efficiency.
Does that mean they are really good at handballing?

Nahhh... they've specialised for years in padding stats through cheap and easy 1-2 moves and short kicks.

Deliver a premiership? Is it as easy as ordering a pizza?

or as Travis Cloke once put it - there's a lot of smoke and glass going on behind the windows between the egrrls and their stats-padding WA media cronies.

"“If I could fast track to the end of this season, supporters might be saying 'why were we carrying on so much after round three? It wasn't an issue.' But I can't do that for them. All I can do is say we're working very hard and we're very confident with where we're going”
“or they may be saying ‘hey you remember that Woosha bloke, I saw him the other day working at HJ’s in the city. Want to hold hands and go cry in the corner?”
Oh, and I bet the captain of the titanic was confident about were he was going too. It is easy to be confident when your going down, doesn’t mean it’s a good direction to be going. “yep, that water is a-rising… I am very confident we are sinking…”
I suppose the titanic isn’t a bad metaphor for the ooftit’s. Captain (in this case coach) with too much confidence in himself, belief that his ship cannot be sunk. We know how the story ends taking down the crew and passengers. :)

Gover, that is 'kin excellent...
I've been a Mark Duffman fan for a while... when the Duffman calls it, he mucketh about not.
"But critical also in relation to the long-term aims which have them in premiership contention by 2012.
Coach John Worsfold raised eyebrows after the loss to North Melbourne last week when he said that while other clubs were aiming for flags by 2013 or 2014, his club did not intend waiting that long.
Every club has a long-term plan about when it wants to be "in the window" and West Coast's plans are made with the confidence of a club that has delivered a higher than average ratio of finals appearances and premierships.
But observers of the Eagles' play since three-quarter time in round one against Brisbane were scratching their heads about this team winning a flag inside of three years.
Right now, the Eagles are suffering from either one of two football ailments: one is a lack of confidence and form; the other is a lack of talent.
"
That is more than just a shot across the bows. That is midships. Right in the Ooftit, actually.
This, though...
"Kerr has retained the reputation of being one of the elite midfielders without managing the output since the departure of Chris Judd and Ben Cousins more than two seasons ago.
In fairness to him, he was also battered by injury last year.
But it is worth noting that it is 15 games since he gathered 30 possessions in a match. Former teammates Judd and Cousins have managed it three times in the past 10 games despite having their own battles with injury and taggers.
At 31 and coming off a serious early-season hamstring injury after a year out, Cousins managed it three matches in a row last year at struggling Richmond.
Yes, Kerr is tagged heavily every week, but his inability to impact on games while being tagged has become a chronic problem.
Last week, 18-year-old Kangaroo stopper Ryan Bastinac held Kerr to three first-half touches. Released after half-time, Kerr came into his own and had the ball 18 times.
Bastinac went to Matt Priddis, a player as honest as the day is long but less talented than Kerr. Priddis still battled on to find the ball 17 times in the second half.
"
is condemnation of the highest calibre. Succinct, concise and pointed... poetry in motion.
While we're waxing poetic, how about this...
"The problems don't end there. In the era of compressed zone defences, AFL teams, like boats, tend to have their rudders at the back. Astute decision makers and ball-carriers are put in defence to steer the ball to the opposition defence's most vulnerable point and penetrate it.
Teams try to develop several such rebounders to stop opponents closing one down and stifling their ability to move the ball.
West Coast have Shannon Hurn, who is arguably his club's most important player but is suspended.
Watching the Eagles trying to move the ball through a zone without Hurn last Saturday was a little like watching the cinema epic Titanic and wishfully thinking the boat might miss the iceberg. Deep down you knew all along how it was going to end"
He might be a lone voice in the wilderness for now but I reckon Mr Mark Duffield has just launched a little avalanche. If we lived in a fair world, he'll end up Sport Editor at the Worst.
