GS, as we live in an egirls world (according to the worst anyway) Mark Duffman will probably be sent to the journalistic equivalent of a Siberian work camp for political 're-education'.
You know how the worst operates....the weevils do no wrong (at least noting that makes it into print) and if they do, point to a bear!

The Duffman will survive, I reckon Yeti...
do you remember the withchunt? Messy affair.... but once that starts up it's relentless. There's no hiding Ooftititus under the nearest bear when your closest competitor is flying along at 6, 7, 8 or 9-1.
The public gnashing of teeth will have ramifications for the Great Australian Bight... seismic activity on that scale will have chunks of the Nullabor falling into the sea. There may even be public burning of mementoes and little clay figures with real human hair although I'm not sure how ch7 would feel about losing their venerable anchor... but I'm going out on a long lead here, sooner or later the peasants will realise the emporer has no clothes and it'll get uglier than waking up nude in a henhouse.

I don't know what to say, apart from that was one of the most satisfactory articles I've read ... ever!
It's kind'a like Duffield had a Matt Price moment.
What say we get a pole thingy going to extend Woosies contract! Oh, and the grocery baker too.
And you're last post was pretty slick too Smiley.
(Don't think I've forgotten the Bear comments though)

You got my vote to extend woosseee's contract!
I reckon make him head coach for life! And permanently appoint captain tiptop as chief sidekick for life.
GS that image of the emperor and the henhouse was just one image I didn't need rolling around my head. You need to consider the damage your words can cause. Think of the children...and the bears!

Wow, I've never seen such a scathing (and accurate) assessment of the budgies outside of Dockerland ... well, obviously this one is on Dockerland too but you know what I mean ...

I had to laugh. A few weeks ago an egirl friend commented that she absolutely detested our #41. My chin hit the floor. Duffs has never pinched, stomped or belted another player. Her reason? His uncle! How is that for egirl logic?

Mark Dufffield... Has the eGurls stopped the bank transfer? That's an astonishing article. Only astonishing because it was published here in WA.

Settle down, you've been conditioned to think anything not glowing about them is a stitch up job. I haven't seen so many punches pulled since the Marbig product recall of '98.
Have a go next time, Duffield.

I'm with Shane on this one.
Prof. Smiley, my view of the Duffman's uncle is very different from yours. I've always seen Duffield the Elder as someone whose reputation for 'serious' commentary depends on the local media being filled with Sideshow Bobs like Barra, Slappo and the guy with the big schnoz on Ch 7. Their abject stupidity and shameless bias have always allowed the likes of Duff's uncle (and the same argument goes for that once loser coach of the Cardies ... what's his name? ... the other guy with the big schnoz, and the painfully rehearsed quips? ... Cometti!) to appear reasoned and disinterested.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
And the proof, for me, is in that article. Duffield the Inconsequential does little more than slap Woosha-y with smoke. When he's prepared to punch Woosha-y's and Nissy-y's and West Coast-y's lights out (rhetorically speaking, of course) I'll happily pay attention.
But I reckon I'll be waiting a long time.
Still, it's interesting that even the local 'doyen' sports writer felt there was no choice but to publish something other than a fluff piece on the mob up the road. In that sense, at least, the times may well be changing.

Perhaps he delivereth less than what we want... but tell me, who else in print delivers anything like his analysis of the game?
As for smiting Woosh with smoke... at least someone over here had the temerity to smite. Smite on Duffman the Elder, I say.
