Gee there are some issues there. I hope they have a police clearance for that sort of work.

The great thing about our recruiting over the last couple of seasons is that we have set ourselves up for the next couple of drafts better, and different, than most other clubs.

We have picked good young players who may take a few years to hit their straps but have a massive upside to them.

But we have used the rookie draft (& to some extent the normal draft with Ballantyne) to bring in more mature ready made players who can have an immediate impact.

What this does is reduce the pressure for the next couple of years. We can still pick up the best young talent when our turn comes in the draft, but with picks being much later than normal & with a minimum of 3 picks having to be taken by each club, we can make a decision not to go with pick 50 something on a "maybe" player & instead upgrade our highly talented rookies. Smart play by the club really.

The other thing is that these "mature age" rookies aren't exactly ancient! At 21 or 22 years of age they still have the capacity to be 10 year players for our club!
