Keeping a lid on things

I assume this is some kind of April fools joke.

www.watoday.com.au/afl/afl-news/dockers-...a-20100401-rhip.html

The Dockers' marketing department ... unveiling the $350 piece, named "Dream Debut" on the club website.

The three-photograph piece has a silver frame, double-matted finish and includes a plaque with Barlow's statistics from the game.

Where do I buy the telethon premiership t-shirts from?

Yup, Rosich.

How much for a phial of Barlow's sweat? (Should be able to flog a truckload of those.)

This crap doesn't sit well with me...

I s'pose you want to raise the profile of the club and increase overall turnover and profitability, but if you're gonna rattle one of these things out within days for a bloke who's been here for 5 minutes, how about rattling one out for the bloke who single-handedly provided consistent grunt in the middle for us over years and after a debut only marginally not as frickin excellent.

Hase.

Let's not forget where this club has come from, eh boys?

Timing couldn't be worse, could it?

Just when you're walking on air again, along comes something like this to remind you that, after all, you're just barracking for a franchise.

Time to change the jumper numbers from small numbers like 21 to say 98,543.
That way we can produce more jumpers and make more money. 21 simply ain't enough especially with our predicted population boom.

If you go to Auction 17147 you can buy Rhys Palmer's #10 Match Worn Purple Haze Guernsey. Not sure who wore it though.

Seems we can't keep everyone happy. Over at the worst, the critics are lining up because the lid was nailed shut before their liking.

au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/opinion/post/-...s/post/539/comment/1

If Barlow gets a fair cut of the promotional pics, I don't mind, but if it's just a ploy to inflate the club's bottom line at the end of the year, then I'm not sure. Then again, if they can find 21 people willing to pay $350 for an unsigned picture you could probably cut out of the paper, why wouldn't you?

ETA: guy, you're right on the money with Rosich. And while you're talking about remembering where the club has come from, it's not a bad idea to think about where the CEO came from. It explains a lot.

What a sad little article that was... cheers RB. Having a whinge because the club is being businesslike... ostensibly. More like, the small folk under the desks at the Worst are still annoyed that they, apparently, got snubbed by the club.

After spending years pouring rubbish and scorn on that same club. Go figure.

Here's a tip, little people. Take the emotion out of it and the little opinions and we, the fans, might be prepared to take some notice of your witterings.
