I'm quite certain that had Barlow been all over the media a- la Naitainui, he would have been giving Freo a dressing down for being ahead of themselves and over exposing Barlow.Obviously RL is a bitter egirls fan who is starting to panic about the upcoming domination of Fremantle.Poor thing..

Not sure I follow your take on RB .

Are you suggesting Freo Management should allow the media to do to Barlow what they are doing to NicNat ?

The media in W.A are set to destroy Nicnat and his club seems unwilling to stop them.

The article by the journo is clearly sour grapes and simply another sledge of our club.

They've done it for too long and I for one am sick of it. Although that is not the reason they have put him off limits, that is how I like to think it is.

Michael Barlow from his interview on Fox appears mature enough for the exposure but why take risks ; .... there's little to gain and much to lose.

Aww did someone miss out on getting Barlow cheaply for his Dream Team?

We pretty much trumped the entire competition by getting Barlow for a red dot price and they're not happy - especially Egrrls supporters. So how's that Oakleyey-Nichollsy pick working out for yas now?

Ross Lewis doesn't hear about anyone unless the Egrrls are hyping them up and clearly Woosha and his scouting cronies hadn't even heard of Barlow before the NAB Cup.

Don't worry Ross, Essendon hadn't heard of him either.... and he was training with them. They were too busy scouting Kyle Hardingham and planning how to get back at the Dockers for obliging McPhee of his demands. Meanwhile, Brad Lloyd and Harvs, who still has more mates at Essendon than Matthew Knights (I suspect there are more Freo scouts at Essendon than there are Essendon scouts), refused to play funny-buggers and just went about their business.

Dear Mr Lewis

I've had a lot of experience with petulant two year olds who tend to throw tantrums and spit the dummy when they don't get their own way. You're going to have to stand in the corner until you realize that you depend on the club. The club doesn't depend on you.

It's important to remember not to speak on someone else's behalf - especially footy fans. They don't like it and most of them know a lot more than you.

Always offer your seat on public transport to older, wiser people. In your case that means everybody.

Now, put down your crayon, put the dummy back in your mouth, sit quietly and don't make a sound. We don't want to see you and we don't want to hear you.

Kind regards
Purplemum

What a silly little article in that paper, the Worst.

The journo cant be writing on our behalfs regarding us getting to know Barlow.

We have gotten to know him since early December, where we picked him up in the Rookie Draft.

As we do on Dockerland, we all share videos we found on our new recruits, pasted articles and shared pics of these players.

We all have Dockerland, we dont need some Rag to introduce players to us.

I wished Nic Nat a good career and sorta hoped he would go to another club than be stuck at the Budgies, but I too can see that if his career doesnt take off the media will ruin him.

To paraphrase you know who, Nats is a good kid that got put on Highway #1 to Knobbersville. I'm not sure if he'll end up a knobber, but "...when in Knobbersville...."

Barlow, on the other hand, is hardly 'mature' at 22 (or thereabouts). But he is a Mike and he'll keep things in perspective.

Well....

The boy's name Michael \m(i)-chael\, also used as girl's name Michael, is pronounced MYE-kal. It is of Hebrew origin, and its meaning is "who resembles God"

thanks "think baby names"...

so, he has been talked up his whole life i believe... he will deal with it

any creditable football journo would know that very few players at a club are contractually allowed to answer media questions off the field. pav, sandi, grover and hase are the only ones at freo that come to mind.

in airports when the media are bombarding the players with questions and they don't answer it's because they're not allowed to, not they don't want to. well, they probably don't want to either.

note that i said any creditable football journo, a category the writer of that article would not fall under.

as for the barlow pictures, it does indeed sound like a very eagles thing to do, but with dockers fans snapping up the 21 of them, and the fact they'll increase in value when barlow wins the brownlow (pretty good investment if you're getting a return after less than a year) then it's certainly not hurting anyone.

Purplemum, I hope Ross's mum read your letter out to him and explained how naughty he'd been.

Don't know if this will affect Pollyanna's call in any way but I did hear Harvs referring to Barlow as "Mick" during the week.

Some bloke running around in a Crows jumper last week was called Myke - which I don't think is going to start a trend.
