In Perspective

I am going to Sunday's game expecting to win or at least a hard fought narrow loss might be acceptable. However, a loss by more than 4-5 goals would be unacceptable and put us behind the eight ball again.
Too many times ive been to Etihad Stadium and come away well beaten , especially against Essendon and have their supporters rub it in.

Ok, so your perspective is entirely personal, then?

The days of leaving the MCG or ETIHAD and looking to hide your scarf and Freo cap are over. This can be rectified with a victory this Sunday.

So what you're saying is that you'd be happy with a credible loss.

I like this telling the team what to do stuff. If only it had occurred to me on Sunday night, I could have had Pav get the beers.

You had your chance with that months ago.... and failed to take it. The offer has, unfortunately, closed.
On topic... I'll be happy, as always, with continued commitment and team play with steady improvement the key. That might mean a win OR a loss.... but neither of those will determine my judgement on the team.

I did tell Pav off last Sunday. In the first quarter when he was having a break, he walked so far towards the player race I told him to get back out there and finish the game first.
Just as well I did too. But winning and beers delivered at the breaks would be good.

I'd like to revive the offer. Anybody care to tell Prof. Smiley what's been happening in the cricket?
Allow me to be the first: you lost.

Perspective, eh?
No-one wanted to know when I had the winning stick in my hand. Now look at you lot.... debasing yourselves. My god, you sicken me.

Isildur I hear you, seen Freo smacked at Etihad in front of 45000 (50 freo supporters) and been the barrage of abuse many a time......
4 things gives me confidence
1. saw hill and subs play live last year (against the bombers), they looked like 12 yo kids vs men. Hill and the rest of the team are bulked out so will hold tackles
2. Lloyd, Lucas , flinchy, lovett gone. no goals or run for bombers
3. Jobe is a great leader, but is slow . Barlows got him covered and should go head to head. Mcveigh tough, Subans tougher.Johnson run with Ryder, 211 blankets Hille. Neagles out Pav will run amok. Hurleys in jail. We have the game breakers:Hill,Hase, Mayne, ballas even Mora can stand up.
4. that and Flinchy will hold a half day sesssion with the boys running through his best mate Knighty's whole game plan he's been implementing for two years (reckon high pants might even be going for the dockers)
I have extreme purple haze glasses. But we can pinch the points

I won't mention the roman numeral thing, but on the optimistic side, at least you can wear thongs on your feet at the Etihad urinals and not come away with toenail rot.
We'll beat them this weekend - we need to.
