I hate to sound arrogant but I'll be disappointed with anything less than a 10 goal victory...True

My perspective might be determined by whether I go to the local stagger or just stay home.

Bito: the protocol, when listing points, is to use roman numerals (xi words, iv punctuations).

For me, perspective relates to the performance, not the result.
First games are like Derbies; players can "get up" for them. When it's just four points and not "bragging rights" "momentum" and "all the other crap" the Haggerses of the world come up with, sometimes it's different.
From my perspective, the best thing about Sunday was the vim and vigour of the attack on the ball and, if someone had it, the man too.
We made Adelaide look like the Freo of the past two years. If we can go close to making Essendon look similar then I'll be happy.

The question is "How good were Adelaide?".
Initially the talk was about how sensational was the win by Fremantle. Now seems to be switching to how abysmal was the loss by Adelaide.
After 5 or 6 rounds we'll have a better perspective. Sunday's game should reinforce the thrashing of the crows - I believe that it's very winnable.
Had a look at the Bombers game replay - they really weren't that good. They were panicky under pressure, fumbled a lot, were inaccurate with long kicks or just bombed in hope. The Cats weren't much better.
The Crows pressured us heavily, especially in the first quarter, and we responded with aplomb - quick handballs, no hesitation, and, most importantly, backing up and calling. Anyone in trouble - which was any time there was a loose ball - knew that there was a teammate there to take it and pass out to a chain of other teammates until it was cleared by foot. Brilliant stuff, and happened all game.
This is winnable.

Good point Stevedore. I watched the Cats vs Bummers game and the Cats didn't even look like they were trying for the first three quarters. They didn't exert themselves because they didn't need to.
Adelaide on the other hand were substandard probably because of a depleted forward line and maybe a lack of match fitness, but their midfield was full strength. Either way they put the challenge up to Freo (at least in ii out of iv quarters) and lost to a side with better intensity. I reckon we'll play better this week as well.
Therefore, based on the first round (it's ok to make predictions on one round isn't it?) we'll have em by xxvii points.
Or if you base your prediction on the last time we played them and consider who has come into our side since then, we'll thrash 'em!

Dockers winning by one point would be massive. Remember that on game day we are going to be absolutley slaughtered by the umps. Slaughtered. We need to be a 4 goal better team, and that being the case, we will scrape in by the barest margin.
Having said that:
a) Harvey seems to have instilled some good old fashioned tackling aggression into the boys.
b)The Pav is looking mean and lean.
c) Bombers best forward is a Hawthorn reject who has rarely played at Etihad.
Dockers by 25.
