Gotta love those Lions

Watched the last quarter of Bris vs slime.
Gotta just love the way they completely destroyed the egirls. Specially when one of their discards (Staker) made them all look like gooses.

I thought I heard a lot of choking coming from the north.
Prediction: The Worst will be running another 'brave Eagles' story featuring much Mophead syncophancy.
Nataracts: a film that covers the eyes, rendering the victim blind to reality.

Yep, Banners looked good in his first game, Fev's soccer a laugh and Jonno did what Capt Jonno needed to do. Always good to see those Girls lose one - especially to that pack of rangas up there (how many rangas can you fit into a team?).
I must admit to watching most of the game - one thing the E-Girls seemed to be working on over the preseason was shepherding and spreading the zone. For the first 3 qtrs they worked it real well and created all sorts of overlap space. Unfortunately (for them) - and endless mirth (to myself) - they had an inability to mark, kick or handball effectively for an entire game.
I have also thought, since Jeff's time, that we simply don't shepherd enough - we get rid of it and hope for the best.
Always enjoy an E-Girls loss.

Nicoski, Lynch, Shuey, Embley and Selwood, it's one of the great fwd lines in AFL history.
You guys just wait till Hansen gets back.

Mrs Yeti kept asking me why I hate the egirls so much.
Its only a weekend! That doesn't give me enough time to explain it.
As for that last quarter, I lol'ed...several times!

Tom Swift must have racked up an AFL record for most clangers in a game..

I watched about all of the second half.
The Ooftits led at every change, the Lions were down to 19 fit men early in the 3rd, the Ooftits got out to a 14 pt lead...
and lost by 32.
That is a choke, ladies and gentlemen. A rolling over and proffering the proverbial.
Hilarious.

Isn't quarter 4 of round 1 a bit early to start going the tank?

Yes Macnamara set the benchmark fairly high but Tommy was wonderful tonight, with the attempted tackle on Clark an absolute highlight..

Two things occurred to me while watching the game, and I watched (and loved) every minute of it:
i) the Toasters think that Nik Nat is the black Brennan. Trouble is, apart from the fact they can both go 'boing' from a standing start, only one of them can kick, handball, turn sideways and backwards on the run, find space and generally read the play ... and he's not the guy with the curly hair.
ii) there can be no doubt about this: Tom Swift is a secret AFL-imposed penalty on the Evil empire for having taken all those drugs to win the 2006 flag.
Maybe Eyebrows isn't quite as incompetent as we thought.
