Power Rankings '09 Week 2

Well that sucked...again.

Having now seen them both do it once, I can confirm that watching Adam McPhee have a good game is only slightly less annoying than seeing Andrew Embley do it.

As an image, what would be harder to believe was real?  Flinchy McPhee puffing out his chest and actually BEING tough or Adrian Barch reading a book, any book?  I go the former, only just.

Power Rankings '09 Week 1

So there you go.  One week down and not a lot gained or lost as yet.  Funny to think that had we kicked straight in the 15mins straddling 3 qtr time, we would've been on level terms.  By the end of the game, that was easily forgotten and rightly so, the end was disappointing.

Much less disappointing was the return of  Cousins, the continued ineptitude of the Fowl and Dean Laidley's continued devotion to Cyborg-style delivery of total stupidity.

Anyhoo, on with the rankings, and we start with a surprise...

One game down and, well, one game down.

It's not the end of the world, you know.

Ohhh, I know... the summer looked so promising with all sorts of tidbits emanating from Hope Central but the reality always, was that we turned over about 1/3 of our senior list.

Power Rankings '09 Week 0

Well its here again.  No more mock drafts, no more shave down controversy's, no more fretting over someone's pre-season hot spot.  Mercifully, finally, the real stuff is here...well almost.

As hard as the off-season is, I'm inclined to think that the hardest and longest part of the non-footy season is the period between the NAB Farce and the real season.  Absolutely terrifying in its drawn-outedness.

Anyway, enough of that.  After no deliberation at all I have decided to subject you too the Power Rankings again this season.  In what looks to be an even season, we could have plenty of surprises, or none at all.

You Know Football (vi)

So you know football competitions, well Dockerland has been running a small but fun competition for a few years now. If my memory serves me correctly, Scal initiated the good-humoured competition and Oos picked up the reins in 2006 - always with Shane's technical and managerial support.

Shane has given the nod and the Dockerland Fantasy Football League (DFFL) will run again in 2009. It is free and the only prizes on offer are good-natured ribbing and the knowledge that your team smashed another Dockerlander's team.

AFL Most & Least Valuable 2009

Howdy again.  Its time for my 2nd Annual AFL Most Valuable Property blog.  An idea I have stolen from a funny writer in the US and adapted to a much more important sport.

This year, because so many players deserved it, I have also included the AFL’s least most valuable players, but they come later.

I have to acknowledge this disaster. All week, I've been following the incoming news reports in ever increasing disbelief.

The Conversation.

G'day and welcome back to it all, folks. We've been through the mindless searing wasteland that is the Season Without Football and, while still stranded just on the wrong side of highway, so to speak, we can almost see the Sherrin again.

Top Christmas

Welcome back dockerlanders, hope your xmas was minimally exciting, as was mine. If there's one thing less appealing than the overblown consumerfest build up to Christmas, it's having your blood pressure elevated during the holidays by blow ins called relatives coming round, pilfering the decent beer and the Ferrero's and hogging the big arse TV. Mine stayed over the side of the continent this year, so it came early.

I'm also glad to report this xmas was a little more efficient at the Drubbing household, what with no simultaneous vomit and tummy expulsions ensuring the nominated days for opening gifts were observed.

While spending some quality time in the bosom of my family, I also spent it with a good friend; Matt Price. I was lucky enough to receive Top Price as a gift, and so I could savour some great work from one of the very few blokes left who could give journalism a good name.

So, you're an alien, recently arrived in Perth to study us humans.  Firstly, welcome, secondly, congrats on being smart enough to avoid landing in South Australia, good forward intel I would assume.
