The thing with Schammer is that he can tackle and tackle hard. I am sure he would be high in the stats for number of tackles last year for our club, if not number one.
Some players mark well, some players kick well and others are just a nuisance to other teams, knocking balls loose and applying pressure.
Schammer is one of our best at this but unfortunately he sometimes finds himself needing to pinpoint the ball 30-50 metres and I am sure he would be the first to put his hand up and give it to a Mundy or Duffield if he could.
He is valuable at the moment. Not the best in the competition, at the nuisance factor, but the best in our team (insert Crowley too)

Some players you know are going to give everything they have to every contest they can. Schammer is at the top of the list in that regard for me.

The nuisance factor must also include DeBoer and Ballantyne with Scham and Crowley doesnt it?

His disposal is his weakest feature but he has a role to play at the bottom of the pack. He's still youngish and like Bell (kicking short) and McManus (holding on to it longer for a better option / handballing more) will find a strategy to get better efficiency out of his disposal over time.

I actually agree with Slammen. Macca continually cost us games and so does Schammer.Poor decisions and disposal are trademarks for them. He is outside the best 22 for mine.
I don't doubt his courage and tenacity, Both are very good, but the modern game requires more.

We beat the team that beat the team that won the grand final, does that make us premiership favourites??
Its PRE-SEASON
Barlow has played 2 games of AFL. Great, lets see how he handles being tagged ie what is now happening to hilly
