CrankyB, good one mate, funny.
This has to be a joke hey? It seems to me in football, you keep your heritage, you look after your supporters, make supporter and club feel like a big family.
As I have said with all these changes we have had in last year and a bit, is this would not have happened at Collingwood. No ´legend´from Essendon or Carlton would ever be brought over to the Pies.
Its becoming the West Coast Dockers.

To all concerned at Fremantle football club,
I am in shock. At first I thought it was a practical joke, but now that reality has set in, I am just sad and very angry at the stupidity.
Last night my husband renewed our membership for 2012. Oh what a shame!
Had we had the news of the appointment of the assistant coach being Peter Sumich you would NOT have received it.
No doubt we will settle down to being the laughing stock of all of the football community, all over Australia.
It has been hard enough holding our heads up with the other team in town with their arrogant put-downs etc., they now have every reason to call us “dorkers”. This has to be the most stupid appointment of all.
I thought our coaches were supposed to support Fremantle Football Club, but those concerned with the appointment of Peter Sumich are pretenders and have “West Coast Eagles” at heart and are working against the Dockers in the cleverest of ways.
Didn’t it occur to anyone at Fremantle, the reasons why he hadn’t ever been appointed anywhere else before? While he may be a “nice guy” he is just unable to communicate in public or football circles and as for being a coach, the Eagles must be laughing all the way at the opening to get a real coach in his place!
Oh, while time will tell, I am so afraid for all concerned with the club, and my heartfelt sympathy to all of the players and members.

It's all good.
Suma's a Freo boy - the fact he played for the eagles should matter not.
He's played in premierships and won 1 as an assistant coach.
I'm really looking forward to 2012

Guess I am in the dark how these hirings go - Do the steves/ board go to Lyon and say what do we need in order for you to do your job as best as possible? And he responds "We need forward coach, a stoppages coach" etc and then they go out in search of the "right people" - or do these guys just decide who they want and just hire willy nilly? I would hate it if Simon Lloyd leaves us for 2012 season, I wouldn't anticipate he'd be around for more than a season though.
This latest hiring doesn't do much to convince me the Lyon appointment was a well thought out move or the right one. The vibe I have received (and it is only that) is there was no coup from the players concerning Harvey (contra media spec) and they were genuinely surprised by the news. This in turn leads me to ask, have the Steve's considered how disruptive this sacking and signing of Lyon is, especially the way they went about it?
