I hope ther is a "carry your own dribble bucket" clause in his contract.
He said he always wanted to be at Freo,despite of apparent oppertunities,because of loyality,even though it didnt stop him from applying for every job and then some every where else,except Freo.
"Was it a tough choice to come to freo?","Yes and No",yes as in its freo,my direct opponent,no when i saw the pay offer.
look,its easy to pull the proverbial,years of experience,Suma is Suma.Why do i do it?,cause im a lazy sod,its easy.Of the ass. coaches out there,we got The Ass Coach,it should not be so easy!,Surely it shouldn't be a challenge hiring a coach that isn't a joke,or so lowly considered by his own supporters?Honestly,its embarrassing that we have a eagle in the nest,but When i get the cheer from eagles at work for taking suma of thair hands,i just cant find a reasonable reason why we have him.
I don't have the same joy as i did once have for this club,maybe its the time of year,season end and so on,but i don't take this personally anymore,it just doesn't have that same feeling anymore.
Ill support the suma for now,heck he may be a sensation,you know,"its hard to fly like a Suma when you're surrounded by eagles",type of break out.
Oh well,Roll on next year.

I agree with ddocker's sentiments here.
I reckon Suma and Lyon will get on famously.
Not sure of any of the scuttlebutt on Sumich as a person, assistant coach or whatever, but there is no doubt that many of the assistant coaches going around cannot cut in the main job. They might be great lieutenants but are never going to get the General's job.
It does not mean that they are not very very good at what they do.
I hope he does really well with us, because it means we will be doing really well also.
But if he is seriously being compared to Jones and Longmuir then 'Heavan Help Us'.

Stone worked with the same Sydney midfield coaching mob that Lyon worked with. He also worked with sumich with the weagles midfield. There is some cohesion to the new coaching appointments.

I've been working on the theory the recruiting system is "blokes Steve Harris has heard of". Keep an eye out for the big coup next year, when they try and poach Mark Harvey.
The paper this morning seems to suggest that Peter was demoted at the Eagles after their wooden spoon collecting season.

Well spotted, Shane. He was the lowest paid assistant coach at West Coast. Burns is highly regarded there and the other bloke, whose name escapes me, was given a big payrise to prevent him from being poached by the SA clubs.
Obviously money and pride had a big part to play in his decision to come over but if it didn't, then he really would be something of an idiot and I wouldn't want him.
It's also important to remember that in the Asterisk Years, Summa was the only bloke at the Weavils wanting to do anything about stopping the vast tracts of Columbia being hoovered up Weavil noses.
He and Nisbett have not been friendly since that time and Nisbett would have loved to take the opportunity to shaft Sumich in a pay deal.
Even if he is West Coast scum, Sumich was their midfield coach when the Weavils midfield was good and he was their forward coach when they finally looked like they understood what CHF meant.
He may be a lisping, Weavilly, South Fremantle, carrot-munching, market gardener with the general sophistication of an unwashed turnip, but he knows footy.
If you rejected blokes just because they came from somewhere else, then you'd be pretty limited in your options. And I pretty much hate everywhere else.
Did we sling all sorts of arrows at Longmuir, J when he defected to the Slime?
