I think our 1st pick in this draft will be pick 56.

Pick 38 and a player for Mitch Clark. However, losing one of our current players on the lower end of our list may not be a bad thing.

Why wouldn't we just offer Griffin? Vossy gets to replace Clark with a very good ruckman, and we don't really give up too much.
I've said this a few times before though; If Vossy doesn't pull his head in, Freo should just steal Clark in the PSD. I can't say I won't be disappointed if they actually give Brissy something of value, because Clark, IMO is yet to prove himself as a top tier player. Voss keeps banging on that Clark was drafted using a top ten pick. Well Michael, being a top ten draft pick is irrelevant if the player hasn't done too much over a few seasons of football.

With McPharlin and Grover around 30 or over the backline must be a concern for Ross. With Hayden gone also, who is of experience? Silvagni and possibly Johnson ? But playing in defence did not work out for Johnson, who is more of a swing player (as devised by Chris Connally) Possibly Morabito will be thrown into a backline as a run off attacking defender. but is that Ross's style?
Draft picks must be seriously considered for the future of the backline especially.

markh295 how are your finances? I would offer to sell you some real estate just the back of Collie, but I'm figuring your fiscal stocks might not be that great.

Mickey B, I think you may be being a bit harsh on Mitch Clark saying he hasn't done much over a few seasons of footy. He was leading goal kicker for the Lions this year and two years ago was in the All Australian short list squad. His first couple of years after drafted he was hit with OP.
He will be a massive get for us, but hopefully the club stands strong and does not give too much away. Would like to think surely we would not give up on Duffield after a tough year and laughable to read few weeks ago media talking about giving up Zac.

Keep the draft picks. Keep Griffin. Play him forward, rotating through the ruck with Sandi. Pick up Clark in PSD if he ends up there. Otherwise let it go through to the keeper.
In the past, we've traded draft picks for players who haven't delivered at other clubs and it has never worked out.

can't believe we're thinking of giving up so much for one player who is out of contract. all this talk of him leaving is really good for the lions, as people start to rate him higher than he is, then freo feel obliged to pay more for him because they think other clubs will have a go at him.
he's a great player, but seriously, a second rounder and a player is as high as i would be willing to get him.
when he played well, it was in the ruck, we've got clarke and sandilands there. we coped well in 2010 with our forward line as it is, massive knee-jerk reaction from an injury-plagued season

I reckon Lyon will see Mora as our potential version of Goddard. Scarily, Goddard also had a knee injury early in his career if I remember correctly.
