Does the delisting of Hansen mean that WCE can now select Anthony ahead of us?

Would it be the same answer if I asked whether they'd delisted Hansen in order to pick Anthony?

I hope so.
Contrary to some fairly extravagant postings about how we're now oozing with talent--maybe even have too much talent for our own good (don't want to tax the selectors too much, do we?)--we're still a way from the top, and that's where we're now aiming. When the injuries hit last year, we were shown up pretty badly for a top four contender. We'll need everthing going our way to get to the top. Getting Anthony will addd another needed element.
And, if we do, I hope he'll receive a Freo welcome and support, unlike that given to McPhee.

Don't want to sound too pessimistic, but the toast delayed their decision on Hansen to the last minute, and announced it after the draft - we held back a draft pick to enable us to grab Anthony. So if they wanted Anthony, and to stuff us at the draft, this would be exactly how you'd do it. This way we pass on a pick at the draft and potentially miss out on Anthony as well ... I am a bit worried. They could use Anthony, no question, and with McKinley and Hansen gone, it leaves them only Lynch and Kennedy as key forwards (you'd think Darling would be a season or so away from making an impact).

Don't get too stressed - it's like the umps and AwFL fixturing ... it is out of our control ...
True WCE have lost a lot of height.
Also it is just as plausible the reason why Hansen got delisted post draft is they got Darling at pick 26 (lot of talk he wouldn't make it that far) who is ready made to play AFL next year in a forward line with Kennedy and LeCras.
Lycett, Nic Nat, and Cox can all spend time up there as well.
Problem of course is they don't have a midfield who can win enough ball and what they do win they butcher.
I do think clubs fear us over next few years so don't want us grabbing talent for free but whether that's sufficient motivation to deviate from a prior recruitment strategy I don't know.

ps think one of the papers said Justin Monaco was going to be asked to train with us prior to PSD and rookie draft.
I'd be ok with him on main list via PSD if Anthony gets whipped out from under our noses by GC, WCE or Ess.

Hope you're right! I think Anthony will slot in very nicely behind the Pav, and I'd already started thinking Dream Team bargains ...

DT bargains from draft you'd think these blokes would go close to playing 22 and winning some footy
gaff at wce
atley at north
tape at GC
swallow at GC
