Symbols

Symbols should have meaning and I don't see much meaning for us in a Chevron. In fact if I wanted a chevron I'd buy Marlboro

In todays worst you may notice a picture of Pitt in the Chevrons and a picture of him in the big V. You can barely tell them apart, now that is a symbol I don't want to see

It's what's in the jumper that counts not what's on it. However, I don't think much imagination or creativity went into designing it, very bland I think.

Giumelz, I think that team only had the chevrons for a few years later. Shane, I remember seeing you posted somewhere a pic of the Fremantle team from circa 1910? And half of them had vertical and half had horizontal stripes.

Awesome, so instead of the big victorian V's we could have also gone along the same lines as Geelong, Collingwood or North Melbourne?

Symbols.....mean nothing to paid employees who have no real affiliation to the club other than the desire to get paid.

larkin, I totally agree with you. I love the anchor symbol, and that it was unique in Australian sport.

In terms of the logo, I can almost understand the logic of adding a 'D' to make it into a monogram so that our symbol is even more unique and instantly recogisable. At least there is a logic to that. My issue with the logo is about the way it was done, and with the execution. It just looks kinda weak.

But the chevrons on the jumper I just don't get. Why replace something iconic with something so generic?
