I am not pining for a fight here - but what influence do you think East Fremantle are having on areas like Bullcreek and Leeming?

It's very clear that East Fremantle spend a lot of money and resources on their junior development. More so than some surrounding football clubs. That's not a secret.
They also have some very productive junior zones which have, for the past 20 years of the AFL system, regularly and consistently produced some of the finest footballers in the country. That's not a secret either.
I'm not a research scientist. I haven't conducted studies to determine whether or not the resources East Fremantle pour into junior development is what is responsible for the football talent they produce.
It would, however, make a lot more sense that the football talent being delivered from East Fremantle has a result of their development programs rather than people who move into those zones and have kids, somehow developing magical powers which allow them to win Brownlow medals.

Agreed, what a club. And Hypen, I reckon it's more a case of what influence the great Amateur club Bullcreek Leeming is having on the Sharks than the other way round. Sent a couple of Brownlow medallists thru to the blue and whites.

Maybe but maybe not, Stompyfan.
My sons are in the East Perth district, the players from the Royals come down and umpire their carnivals, fund our wind ups and a club rep frequents our games from time to time.
If there is a potential Josh Carr, Simon Black, Ben Cousins, Matt Carr, David Swallow or Garrick Ibbotson running around for Mt Lawley him making it as a footballer has very little to do with East Perth.
I think the thing that WAFL clubs can influence is participation, encouraging kids to take up footy ahead of basketball etc. So maybe that's what East Freo do very well in their zones. I don't know. I was asking a genuine question.
On another note what does a club get for producing the number 1 pick?

The WAFL took some of East Fremantle's zone off them a few years ago because they had more registered players than some other clubs. South Fremantle got some.

Whatever you think of the Sharks, they've done well with this draft - they are the Black Ducks of the 2010 Draft.
Ok, they've got some cash. Unlike Basso, they can't really put in a Shane Beros stand, unlike Peel they don't need anymore plastic lawn chairs, unlike South Freo they've solved the hired grub van problem and have their own ref (like Basso, no vinegar spray bottles but have the best imported chicken salt in the WAFL).
So, you ask - what are they going to spend the bucks on? Good question - now that Woey's gone, there's no hair tint budget to keep up. This means extra cash in the kitty. Benny's lurking around with that book though so maybe some razor wire around the perimeter would be a good move.
If I was a Sharkette (which I'm not, but my partner was for a while) I would deck out the Shark Pit. Time for an upgrade - the whole tinny cooler next to the sheet metal wall thing isn't a goer. More speakers and let's see if they can match the volume of the Basso Bogans ('Up 'Yous - Up Yous', best anti-umpy chant in the league). Also, how about some more space for Jesse Dart and his mates to kick the ball around behind the southern goals? The members bar area carpet rarely dries out during the week - why not put in some astroturf and simply mow it every Monday?
Just some ideas for Shane and his mates - best talent down at Moss Street has to be young Jesse Dart (oh, and Kyanga). For a team that kind of flunked out for the past 2 years in the WAFL, they did well this year with the draft. Fair enough, good on 'em.

Big win for the Royals having Polak decide to join them, the hierarchy at Moss Street would not be happy!
