I really don't know.
I have no actual experience in managing an elite athlete with this type of injury.
The closest matching data I could get was
from Sweden.. The fracture and management they describe is a bit different from Michael Barlow's but is not too dissimilar. The conclusion "Twelve months after the injury, 44 percent had not regained full function of the injured leg, although all but two of the patients had returned to preinjury working status." is however of concern. I do not expect him to be back to his best by Round 1 but (speaking as a one eyed supporter) hope that he will be fully recovered for our tilt at the 2011 finals.
