Parker will have to slip a long way to 20. He's currently seen as pick 8. Darling at 12. I see the Worst is trying to undercut the Dockers by "suggesting" that Conca is top 10. The general view is Conca is the Dockers pick at 20. I hope so. This kid has got talent.

If we can't get Darling at pick #20 and Conca slips through our grasp then I like a kid called Josh Green. Has anyone seen his highlights clip ? To me a tough little nuggety possession winning wranger could be good !

Kind of surprised me to see Ruffles and Bucovaz listed as nominated for the draft in this article - (hope this works) click Obviously we won't draft them Thursday as we just delisted them, but if the intention was to rookie list them we might miss out. I guess they haven't had any commitment from Harves about that...

That's the system. We delisted them - our choice. (To free spots for this draft and the four elevated rookies Barlow, JVD, SCOS, and Matty DB) They need to nominate so they're formally in the pool of people who can be selected in main draft or rookie draft. Even if we now want (or have already committed) to rookie-list them. Edit#1 - and yes you are right other clubs if they so chose could pick Ruffles, Brock, or Bucovaz up ahead of us, even if we have contracts with them or some sort of heads of agreement about what will happen if we rookie them

right - I thought they could nominate for particular drafts - eg Anthony nominating for PSD only. Not the case with the rookie draft? It's probably in their best interests to nominate for whatever they can, though eh?

Yep I think main/kids draft and rookie draft are the same bucket. PSD is different but I'm not sure if you're automatically in PSD if you nominate for main draft?

I really can't see Darling still being available when our first pick comes up but I'm sure our recruiting staff have the right strategies in place to ensure that we get the best available player at that time. From a personal perspective I feel that the best option for Darling and his future development would be for him to go to an Eastern States based club.

AFL phantom draft link below. For what it's worth they have us getting Conca at 20 and Tom Ledger at 43. They see as missing Litherland who'll go in the 30s and letting Monaco slide through. www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/20.../105263/default.aspx FYI - WCE get Darling at 26.
