I think it will be like the G8 summit. With looting, burning effigies, neo nazies and over turned cars.

Let's get one thing straight, the steves have no part in on field performance. The only thing the steves have presided over is the most dishonest and divisive actions in the club's history (changing the club by stealth and deceipt).

I've never read anyone telling people they should hate the new logo/jumper (I read a lot of people writing passionately about their hatred of the changes or of the way the changes were made). I have however read quite a few posts from people telling others they should support the changes.

Sheep do what their told, intelligent people do what they think is right.

Disliking the jumper = disloyalty to the club???

Please ...

This oversimplifies the situation and is offensive to the supporters of the club. For those saying "get over it" and "throw your support behind the club" - plain and simple:

Pull your bloody heads in.

Regardless of my feelings on the new jumper, my support (and I suggest the support of everyone who has contributed to this discussion) for the lads is unwavering.

Stop clouding the issue of how this travesty has been orchestrated behind emotional pleas to "stay loyal to the club". This adds nothing to the debate over how to hold the board and the Steves accountable for a totalitarian decision made with breathtaking disregard for member and supporter consultation.

I personally like the new jumper - but I love the old jumper. Sure Pav looks good in the purple chevrons, but he'd look imposing in a garbage bag with three holes cut in it. What makes the players stand tall as a side when times are tough is the history of the club, embodied in the jumper - and for better or worse, you don't make history if you keep chopping and changing. And that goes double for the song.

We have a culture, and we have a team, and that is what makes us a club. The new jumper won't change that - but what is at risk is our ability to function as a true footy club made up of voting members. The the real issue at stake here is that change of this magnitude should be given serious and widespread consideration by the full membership.

This hasn't.

Bring on the AGM.

(By the way - have you noticed how much the new logo fades into obscurity on the AFL website ...?)

I never liked the old jumper. But I followed Fremantle from the beginning because I’m a Freo boy, through and through. Like many of you I went to school in Freo. My first job was in Freo. They could have played in a tutu for all I cared; I was going to support them regardless.

Presently I live overseas, and you won’t meet a prouder Freo person than me. None of this, of course makes me more of a supporter than anyone else.

Someone has actually said they would prefer to go back to 2001 season. Sheesh, I sat through every home game that year, and it was gut-wrenching. I sincerely hope this club never has to endure another season like that again. If Freo ever folded (heaven forbid) I probably wouldn’t follow AFL footy again.

I’ve personally never told a fellow supporter to harden up or to get over it. I appreciate the old jumper means something to a lot of people who actually give a bugger about the club.

But the fact that I like the new jumper doesn’t make me any less a supporter than someone who loved the old one.

Neither does it make me a sheep. That I’m not towing this thread’s party line kind of proves that.

Yep - I agree with Psuedonym. What people think about the jumpers themselves is not the important thing. Having us at each other's throats over that is divisive and negative.

The jumper change is about the sort of club (off the field) that we want to be involved in as members. Do we want to believe that we will be involved in such changes, or are we happy to be ignored and treated a "season ticket holders"?

If the board back down and provide the membership with a chance to be involved in the change, and the chevrons are chosen, then you won't hear another thing from me on this subject.

You don't repair that sort of betrayal of trust. The Steve's must go. They're "professionals" so it doesn't matter one jot about feelings or loyalty (huh)!!!
The sheep wouldn't/shouldn't care cause our single shareholder benefactor will appoint some others to their place and they can continue being sheep. The PROUD PASSIONATE & LOYAL fans will & DO care however.

VIVA LA REVOLUTION!!!
