Minor tweak? Take one photo of the 2010 jumper, take one photo of the 2011 jumper, place them side by side and ask an outsider to name the teams. Not one answer will be "They're the same team aren't they?" Repeat for logo.

Totally agree OZ lets not lessen what is going on here. The jumper change is just that a change not a tweak.

I've learnt a lot out of this.

Two separate (though related) issues.

I understand that if it had of been a member voted issue (exactly like GWS are doing) then we'd be debating the colours and iconography on this site, not the restructuring of a succesful footy club, it's a shame.

It wasn't and that's where the discontent is.

Apologies for any offence.

That bumper sticker is gold.

The jumper change is a minor issue - a side issue if you will to keep our minds of the real issue.

Real issue = complete change of logo and new name for the club.

Clubs often "tweak" their jumpers but very very rarely do they replace their logo and change their name, throw in a massive jumper "tweak" and you've got a major change of the symbols many associate with.

As some are saying Moodindigo if you look at the overall picture then it is not just tweaking.

Don't get me wrong, I love the new jumpers and as such have been told were to put it by many on this site BUT that is not what they are grumbling about.

Ok, some many dont like the Jumpers or the Steve's but as they say it goes deeper than that

I love Fremantle Dockers Football Club but I would be very angry if it became just The Dockers Football Club. Such as North Fremantle are the Kangaroos and Footscray now the Western Bulldogs. There is a fear that Freo is going that way. Change the jumber, change the song, change the name????

The Hawthorn final is memorable for many reasons and particularly for the noise the supporters make when they call out Freeeeeeoooooo. I will not support those wanting to go back to the old jumper (yuck) but I support them for sticking up for what they believe is the essence of the Fremantle Football Club.

I'm looking at the AFL Draft Tracker. It took me a while to see where we were; I was looking for an anchor, and they have a Purple rectangle with chevrons.

I would have thought the people behind the changes would care about brand recognition, and it's a worry when their own fans can't recognise the team.

Club's posted a pic of Pitt holding up his first Freo guernsey on Facebook. Of course it has Chevrons on it.

Two interesting comments from fans:

'Shame it doesn't have an anchor on it' has 19 'likes' after 3 hours.

Response of 'Anchor weighs us down' has 5 'likes' after 3 hours.

Just sayin'.
