Get Over It

I just want to say after reading all your crap about "paperclips" and "Steve's" I really think the negative talk at the most exciting time in our history is giving me the s...s.
Granted, the old jumper was "unique" but to be honest, the colour combo was TOO MUCH. It's like when they were establishing our club, they needed to go with every bloody maritime element just to make sure everyone in Australia knew we have a port in Freo. I'm suprised they didn't put a couple of white streaks down the back, there's a lot of gulls in fishing boat harbour. How about compulsory goatie beards for all the player just like a "wharfie". I understand the love and connection to our traditional logo and jumper, but to be honest, I'd feel the same about our identity whatever it was. It is a part of our history and always will be. However, we've evolved...
Personally, as for the anchor on the jumper. It was a weight around our necks centred in the pit of our stomach. Now we have our war paint splashed across our chest. Stick it out boys (follow Crowleys lead), We are the FREMANTLE DOCKERS. Now, when speaking to my eastern states friends about our club I don't stick my back up and defend our colour combo, logo, song and questionable history like I'm defending a misunderstood bank robbing uncle. Now, I highlight the new jumper's connection to our proud, tough and succesful footballing history back to the 1800's, evident to any Souths or Easts supporter. "Oh" they say. We talk about our young batch of stars coming through playing in the mould we all know is in the fabric of Freo. They've already seen that and are scared. Suddenly their shield comes down a little, they mention the PURPLE HAZE looks quite intimidating. I say get used to the Hawthorn final because Subi is becoming a FORTRESS.
They've got a taste of the essence of Fremantle football and heading into 2011 they should be scared and we should be excited, instead you're carrying on about boycotting the new jumper and not buying merchandise. Like someone said, the merchandise is the difference between a pre-sesason trip to Rotto or a high altitude elite training camp in Arizona. I know that I'll be giving the boys every opportunity to succeed. Hell I'll buy ten of the jumpers if it means the difference at three quarter time in a grand final.
I am sick of the point of difference for our club being a point of embarrasment. I'm happy for once that our club is intimidating and has a direct connection to our Fremantle football history. Our brand is now tough, we are going places and we should all be excited. Stop bagging our CEO and President. Stop bagging our jumper and logo. This is the best time in our history so embrace it because the AFL is truly becoming the national code and we are in pole position to stamp ourselves on the competition.
We'd want to change our song when this happens too, it's crap.

Stop bagging our supporters.
They're our edge and if they're not happy then it's the difference between wearing a lacky band around your wrist or wearing a superdooper sports bracelet with holograms in it that harness your body's natural energy field.

Why do I always feel reading these posts that there is an interloper in the camp. Could 'you' stop telling me what to feel, what my vision should be and how ,when I hear the victory song everything will be okay.

I just want to say after reading all this crap about "just get over it" and "our glorious heritage from the 1800's" I'm sick to death of you arse clowns telling me how I should feel and what is important to supporters.
If you think a bit of purple or white dye in the shape of an anchor is weighing the players down in some way then you are a bigger knobber than I suspect most people give you credit for.
I wasn't around in the 1800's so what any teams wore then means absolutely sweet FA to me.
If you so desperately crave the respect of your eastern states friends then you are following football for the wrong reasons - it must have been terrible for you supporting a team that you were embarrassed of for 16 years.
To all those people who are upset that people don't like the changes foisted on us, I say get over it.

Are you a fool?
This is bagging a supporter.
"Hey West Caost fan, your team is a bunch of junkies and your mum wears army boots"
I'm stating my frustration. I'm a supporter too.

docker4life, this is what you wrote:

You are the fool.
If you think winning a premiership has anything to do with the jumper the players wear or the logo of the club then there's is something fundamentally wrong with you are you are about to start Pre-Primary next year. Grow up mate, players win premierships not jumpers or logos. We are in pole position to stamp ourselves on the comp because of our players, coaching and recruitment. You must be struggling to understand how we made the finals in 2010 without the chevrons and paperclip - your arse clownery knows no bounds.
Again I ask you, how have you managed to be a supporter of the club for 16 years when you are so obviously embarrassed about it and thought it was a soft club?
You say "I'm a supporter too" but clearly from your comments you were always a detractor but now you're a supporter of the freshnewbold look.

I'm not sure what concerns me most. That you believe the revised history of Fremantle football that the club dished out. That you think the anchor shape on the jumper has more weight than stripes. That you think people being critical of the CEO is going to have an effect on the players. Your love of what is clearly a dud logo. That you have no issue in claiming it's the first time the club has been exciting, in November, yet you are claiming an understanding of the history of the club. That you seemingly didn't like anything about the club until now. That you think going up a hill for ten days, on the other side of the world, is money well spent in a six month long season.
At the end of the day though, it has to be that you equate wharfie with goatee beard. What's all that about?

Has the club trademarked the slogan 'Get Over it" yet?

More importantly, have they unregistered their previous trademark?
