The only possible interest for me in the last soccer world thing was when Maradona was on screen. Compelling television!
If we got him as our ass coach, when we arrived in Melbourne for away games he'd demand to know why the hotel hadn't supplied apples as expressly requested!
At which point you'd no longer give a rat's about the result of the upcoming game. You'd just go, who WOULDN'T wanna barrack for my team?
Then, should Harvey slip up, we'd have Maradona to take over as senior coach ... and the real fun would start.
I'm beginning to think it might be possible to like football again.
