Great, Scott

Looks like we lost another assistant coach - this time Chris Scott to take over Geelong (according to SEN). Good luck to him - ballsy call by the cats to overlook their own assistants, there'd be some nervous senior players down there. And sucked in Port. Who should we get to replace him?

Brenton Sanderson - will be annoyed (if the tweeter twits are accurate on Scott) and is very, very good. Hinkley is under contract with Ranga Coast - he would be my number 2 (but will take over from Longmuir when he bottoms out Sydney this year).
But if the focus is on the backline (where Chris applied himself) I would opt for Simon McPhee (Claremont) - E-Girls are trying their hearts out, but he can spot a dudd from a mile off - bring in Prescott out of a developmental role into the midfield.

Agree on Simon McPhee, Polly.
Based on the kind of pillaging of our assistant coaching stocks that has happened this year, it appears other teams are looking very hard at us. Here's hoping we've locked the Messrs Lloyd away on long term contracts.

One of the problems with losing the type coaches we have lost this year is that they have been heavily involved in the recruiting we have been able to achieve over the last few years.
They are moving back east, into the network that they have probably used, to help us achieve the success we have had in this area.

Good luck to him but yes this is bad for us.
Part of me hoped he'd stay until our flag was won - handles media well which means Harves can worry about other things and from all reports knows his stuff.
Another Vic/interstate/VFL coach - someone who has shone at TAC level or similiar would be a good add to the mix.
Hope they lock in Webber and his team asap
