(I think) you can delist contracted players as long as you pay them out and their $$$$s must still be included in total player payments TPP for salary cap purposes.

391, that is correct. Hence the "we will re-rookie him" comments on the news, as on the list or not, he's in the salary cap. The only way he'll be outside the cap is if any other club jumps in before us, then they have to guarantee that he'll be paid the same (or higher) as he would have been at Freo.

Updating 391's original post:
We have lost - Tarrant, Hall, Hasleby, Solomon, Thornton and Headland.
Then delisted - Dodd, Murphy, O'Brien, Bucovaz and Ruffles
Upgraded rookies Barlow, de Boer, Silvagni and van Berlo
Gained - Griffin, Mzungu and Faulks
= 11 off and 7 on = 4 vacancies, presumably being filled by 20, 44 and 55 and either pick 72 or a pre-season draft pick
Also, official site only lists Sibosado and Shepheard as the remaining rookies - however Pearce is still a rookie (likely to be upgraded next year when Grover becomes a veteran)

All of Pearce, Barlow, de Boer, SCOS, VB and Sibo/Shep are still rookies... the official elevations will be announced before Oct 29. They were all just upgraded/nominated during the season, not permanently. That doesn't happen until the draft, when they'll be picks 89, 106, 123, 140 or whatever the numbers end up being.
