I did indeed, it looked much better up close, but from afar I couldn't tell the teams apart very vell, both with dark shorts and white numbers. I took a photo of HB for the recoed, but can't be stuffed posted it up somewhere, though I did post it to Facebook. My eldest, who had not been primed about the chevron, thought Johnny the Doc looked 'stupid'.
All eagles fans leave me speechless most time, but last night's screaming fowl were 'special'.

That's why I don't go to their stupid Tribute. I'm not forking over 20 squids to watch a bunch of loudmouthed idiots boo people like the Wiz who have taken the time to come to the game.
I'll give the money straight to Telethon.

Why don't they donate to another cause, like drug addition,
or will that be too embarrassing for nissy and his mates.

Spot on Mickey B
Why waste money on having to spend more time than necessary with a bunch of Eagle's supporters at Subi.
They (the smug self serving eagles supporters) really don't get it.

Despite the lugubrious rationale for the event, it's essentially a reaffirmation that the West Coast Eagles Football Club is their 1992/4 premiership team.
Our well-meaning former players are being asked, in the name of charity and misplaced bonhomie, to play the role of that team that plays (and loses to) the Harlem Globetrotters. No-one baracks for that team, and neither need we.

If this "Staged" exhibition is to continue then it will have to even up in sentiment otherwise the Freo side will be further infiltrated by media types and contest winners.
Can I offer as a part of our "memorial" the name of
Gary Dhurrkay (4 March 1974 – 21 August 2005)and inaugural
member of the Fremantle Football Club and a man who when
retired went on to became a leader of the Marngarr community
in Arnhem Land, Northern Territory.
I would be interested if others feel the same.

The best player for the dockers in this game is awarded the Gary Dhurrkay medal, Daniel Bandy won it though I thought Scott Chisholm was very unlucky.

I find the whole thing wronger than the time I got caught in the neighbour's headlights but at least the hedge hid the really bad stuff.
Memorials and fund raisers are all very noble and altruistic. The circumstances surrounding the background in this case are sadly tragic and appear to be somewhat at odds with those ideals.
Not my scene at all.

I regret that I have to disagree with the majority of posters here.
I think the Mainwaring tribute match is a great idea, as long as the Old Salts don't end up like the Washington Generals. I don't think that will be the case, as the Old Salts had their chance to win in extra time. It's good to see some of the Dockers of Old strut their stuff in the name of charity.
