He was originally recruited as a forward but due to Adelaide injuries he got his chance as a ruckman. I think a 2nd ruckman who can kick goals can only be a good thing and if he comes cheap then even better.

Only a small detail, but Griffen did take a contested pack mark against Sandilands at a vital time in the last quarter when we were coming back at them and almost rolled them over there mid-season.

Only remember it because it was one of the few times it happened in the year.

Debut 2007, Age 24yrs 206 days. Played 41 games since debut. Looking at his stats, not that impressive. 202cm 97kg. I would hope that our recruiting staff don't get this one wrong. Personally, if we can get Mitch Clark, there's more to like.I think that the Tarrant trade will be worth watching. Can FREO pull a swifty here and get well compensated. I don't think that we should part with our rd 3 pick for griffen.

pretty disapointing if we get him, has shown very little. just dont see where he will be an asset to us, especially not for a round 3 pick - give them schammer?

Agreed, why oh why would we go for a ruckman who can't get a game in a team bereft of tall talent?

The Griffen for Schammer deal was 98% done on Tuesday but Neil Craig squashed it at the last minute (disappointing but a bloody good call by Craigie).

Looks like it will still be done, Griffen wants to come home to be close to his old man and Adelaide are happy to facilitate the move, just a matter of which pick.

Someone should just get Byron's mum to rescind on her refusal to cook for the crows. Neil, get over it - play your cards right, watch your table manners and I'm sure you'll get a dinner invite soon.

Lads. We need a mature ruckman to back 211 up. Not a heap of options out there. Griffin is ok he won adelaide young rising star award a few years back. My concern is he had a hip injury not the best for a ruckman to get.
