So, if the Worst are accurate, it appears as though the 'club' have stacked the nominations - either through a wide dispersal of candidates or a simple lack of choice.
In all honesty, I have never seen such a severe reactive attitude of a corporate body towards their cliental. Whether it is fueled by paranoia or blind protection of a CEO who is under threat is debatable. Whatever it is, it has become clear that the Steves are in full defensive attack towards the former membership that made the footy club a force basically through sheer membership numbers and loyalty.
Receiving such a large proportion of their income from the former FFC surely the WAFC would be nervous at such a 'do or die' strategy by a Machiavellian Bored pursuing a disenfranchising of its franchise. Yep, real good community building is going on down in Freo Wayner....
The candidate's statements haven't come out yet, but is there anyone from here who put their hand up?

Gary Angel said "anchor and red and green were key elements of Fremantle identity and the club needed to treat the members with more respect. I am in favour of keeping song"
Gary Angel...you have my vote.

Unsure what you mean Shane? Am I missing something?
For everyone else page 86 of todays paper has a little bit about what the candidates think of the jumper and song.

The politics of this is very interesting. A record number of candidates who somehow manage to get the West to write an article on their views regarding re branding of the club. Seriously how dumb are we. The club has obviously approached a number of like minded execs to nominate and then contacted the West to set up the story. Next thing you know we have a story about the majority of candidates supporting recent changes, which further diminishes the angst and reinforces the club's view that this is a storm in a tea cup stirred up by a "vocal minority".
It irks me that the club still has the gall to have a newspaper headline in its boardroom cabinet that reads along the lines of "Fremantle the people's club".

Feeding the media current and hopeful member elected change-friendly approval guff is getting way too clinical and 'professional' IMO.
"We've reached maturity," Philip Wright, the managing director of P J Wright and Associates said.
"The change of jumper and logo was significant. We needed that and it's part of a strategy for the success of the football club. The song has to be catchy with a tune that is known. The words obviously have to suit the club but the time to change it is now."
Throwing out everything the Fremantle image has built, particularly in the last 3 years, is a sign of stupefying immaturity. In this what we can expect from Engineers?
"We"? You won't be getting my vote. Neither will Kate based on her support for the fudged process that brought this about.
I'd suggest we need a lemon on the board, but they already have a surplus.
It's clearly a dud position anyway. You tow the line, or just get ignored and outvoted by the rest of the board til you gets tossed out.
Why not just put a stuffed monkey in the spare seat. At least he won't be claiming a travel allowance.

I see the large number of candidates for the freshnewbold a positive, they have split the freshnewbold vote.
Only Gary Angel has spoken out about the jumper change and said keep the 4 colours and said leave the song, if he also is against the logo change then he certainly has my vote.
As Gover said "Gary is a Goer". Chant it up People
