anthony was a really good player in 2009 - strong mits and a long, straight kick. my question is why did his form slip so badly?
if harves thinks he can get him up and running again, then i will have faith.
but if comes down to a choice between him or clark.......

I know Tarrant is great defender and all - but why does everyone think the priority for Freo a tall defender - we got heaps of defenders.
How can any any one think Fraser as backup ruckman - No he aint good for one or two yrs. Not one iota-.
Zac, Kepler, Sandi - enough in ruck department. Sandi as primary ruckman - no issues there.
If rumours are half true about Clark from Brissy - then he could be an effective forward and pinch ruckman if necessary.
It appears to be on a good or reasonable day Freo forward line functions ok to awesome. Plenty of good forwards. On a bad day sometime Pav seems like he is double/tripple teamed. Maybe a tall could help forward line.
Don't know if Collingwood have got anyone worth giving up - so if its Anthony so be it - he won't get paid much anyway. But really Pies would have to be dumb to take Tarrant.

Tarrant is 30, anthony is 22. Anthony just may follow in the same mould as tarrant did under harves. It's a no brainer really. He's gonna cost us peanuts & we come out in front 8 years. Roll out the red carpet. It's not a costly gamble.

Malthouse says he wants Tarrant (On the Couch).
Therefore:
Tarrant = Anthony + draft pick
Schammer + Murphy = Griffin + draft pick
On trade:
Griffin + 2 draft picks for Mitch Clark
Consensus is that Tambling and Krakouer will go to WCE.
The Mitch Clark situation is however dicey because of GCS and GWS having preference picks if Brissie release Clark. Clark may prefer therefore to stay at Brissie. In which case we keep Griffin and trade pick(s) for Thursfield.
None of this will eventuate!

Agree with Rocky - Anthony is another Spud. Get him to obtain Clark otherwise ask Mick for Dick. Either way, got to warn them about the chevron thing.

Herald Sun says Fremantle are showing strong interest in Andrejs Everitt but predicts he is more likely to go to Sydney.
This is not quite as impressive as the association with Mitchell Clark, but I do think theres an improvement in the quality of unsubstantiated rumours this year.

I see John Anthony as a good prospect. He is strong. A long and straight kick. Very good mark. Very young.
There is obviously something that he lacks, otherwise the Pies would have picked him this year for the final series.
I suspect it is his lack of defensive pressure, and maybe he is not as mobile when the ball hits the ground. I do not know.
However a young strong bodied forward who can kick and mark well above average is worth a look in my opinion. He fits that bill.

apparently played very well in defence in the latter part of VFL. Some Pies supporters reckon he never had a good preseason.

Better then loosing Tarrant for nothing... Clark would be a lot better if we could get him though.
