mmm, sweet ironies abounding
Che is perhaps one of the greatest brands of the modern era, thanks to the misappropriated image
Check out this book here, written by a local 'n all

Don't shoot I'm Che! I'm worth more to you alive than dead.
I am assuming you all realise the reference to Che Guevara is entirely inappropriate. A mass murderer and a coward of the highest order who ranks along side Hitler and Stalin as the most despicable murderous butchers in history.

Now Shane, aren't there a whole lot of symbols and images you could fashion a T-shirt range around?
There's a red, green, white and purple pallate, a big, fat, white anchor, a bloke with a beanie holding it and the words Fremantle Football Club.
Surely it would be stevishly churlish for anyone to stop you using these remnants of a bygone era? And I'm sure such a design, perhaps with the dates 1995 - 2010 underneath, would have a market.

What can I say, Mcleody...?
It's a dirty business:
Dockerland: You want answers?
Mcleody: I think I'm entitled to them.
Dockerland: You want answers?
Mcleody: I want the truth!
Dockerland: You can't handle the truth! Son, we live in a world that has walls. And those walls have to be guarded by men with t shirts. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Steves? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for a t shirt and you curse the Che GueFarmer. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that the t shirt's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives...You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall.
We use words like honor, code, loyalty...we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. You use 'em as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it! I'd rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a t shirt and strike a pose. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to!

What you meant to say, McLeody, is that El Che remains a 'controversial' figure ... but only because the right has never allowed violence committed in the name of ordinary people to be justified or 'noble' (as opposed to violence committed on behalf of the minority control of territories and resources).
Still, not even the far right goes so far as to accuse Che of being a mass murderer these days (well, maybe Wilson Tuckey after a few drinks), because they know the charge can't stick. Nelson Mandela, for instance, is a Che fan, for Che's efforts in the struggle to bring democracy not only to Latin America, but also to Africa. Who'd be dumb enough to want to dump on Mandela?
All of which is beside the point. Shane's t-shirt is no less quoting Warhol than it's quoting Che (or quoting Che being quoted, which was Warhol's point, but let's no go there).
Get hip.

Because that was the only decent 23 secs or so in it. Funny because of its melodramatic unbelieveability. Jacks a good actor, he sold it.
Tom Cruise was smug window dressing as per usual.
