What, no potato?
#329185
My inside sources at the Bulldogs tell me that Ryan "Spud" Murphy was delisted last week from our great club. And that he got married this week.

Congratulations and commiserations Ryan.

South Fremantle a great club? There's a debate for another time.

His AFL career, atleast with the Fremantle Football Cub, is over.

Souths are keen to keep him should he not get picked up by another AFL club.

No surprises there... Any news on Hinkley or Schammer?

Commiserations and more commiserations, you mean.

Not unexpected, but sad to hear nevertheless. I expect an official announcement by Hutchy tonight.

Better check with your "inside sources" Shortsy. My "more inside than your inside source" tells me that he is engaged and is yet to get married. Given that my inside source is his girlfriend I'll go with her version of events.

As for his status at the club, apparently he met with them (as did most players) last week but I don't know the outcome. Stands to reason that his is a good chance to get the axe or be put up for trade.

Well done Walter.

Might make trade bait for 'development' at the budgies.

Looks to me like we might have 9 or 10 spots to fill on the list when all the blood is washed from the decks?

That list would be something like...

i) Soloman
ii) Thornton
iii) Tarrant
iv) Haselby
v) Headland
vi) Murphy
vii) Chris Hall
viii) Hinkley?
ix) Schammer?
x) Dodd?

So yeah I suppose we could have as many as ten spots available. Trade, national draft or rookie draft? Hope we get lucky a third time and pick up another Broughton / Barlow.

I think I remember hearing the club will give BOB one more year as well.

Let's not get too greedy at the rookie selection table Mattis117 ... no need to find abother Barlow or Broughton ...

... another Silvagni, Van Berlow, Pearse or De Boer will be fine.

Seriously, how good have our recuiters been over the last few years!?!

Walter, it might sound pedantic ... but I assume he is up for the axe or trade by the Dockers?

I just want to make it clear that I wish the spud well.
I don't think it's any real slur on Spud or anyone else to be branded as he seems, for one, to have been, 'a good WAFL player.'
I hope he gets picked up by someone decent (ie. not the Wiggles) or that he continues to prosper in the WAFL.
I mean, how many of the pundits, experts, soothsayers etc. that get on here have ever been branded a good player in the local bumf***nowhere league let alone the mighty WAFL? I know I haven't.
