The anchor, the song and the red, white and green along with the purple got us where we are today.... one of the powerhouse clubs (financially) of the comp.
Why chuck it out on a whim? Why alienate the hard core supporters who, if they're anything like me, turn their noses up at a new wave of supporter or executive with new ideas or those lacking the spine to deal with what some perceive as ridiculous.
I'll tell you what's ridiculous... changing colours and strips or songs every few years to follow some 'marketing' buffoon who dreams up fancy ideas over a latte and halfbackflanks on about demographics, trends and maximising the moment.

Has anyone actually had a reply to any queries yet? It could just be a storm in a tea cup, not that I'm doubting Jebediah55 but we don't have official confirmation... unless the club want to have a 'surprise announcement'... if they do that, they could be in for a bit of a surprise themselves.

why would we tamper with a brilliant & unique jumper just as we are on the cusp of success? The big crowds at games & TV ratings this year prove that it's on-field success which brings out the fans (and gets the next wave of auskick kiddies on board the purple train) not clever marketing. The song however ... is ours & therefore i'm obligated to love it ... but i'm still open to suggestions as long as it doesn't sound anything like the Gold Coast Suns mardi gras soundtrack.

The club sent an email selling door bells for $5. I wouldn't like to hand over $5, then be told that the tune it played was no longer the club song. I'm the sort of person who writes letters to government bodies about that type of shystery.

So Jebediah, you were asked by FFC to post this as a straw poll, right?
Well I think the general conclusion to be drawn, by and large, taking into consideration the majority opinion here expressed, would be that this particular sample, which may or may not be representative of the full population of Dockers supporters, are firmly against changes to jumpers, emblems, logos and song.
Please pass that on.

Legend of Brimma, no one other than media people have said the anchor, song and colours are crap. Don't beleive the hype.

I don't mind changing the jumper. The club has been a leader in moving forward, new ideas and innovation. It is a heritage jumper and I like it.
I do not want the song changed, the song is freo.

G'Day All,
Just to pick up on the earlier post by Londoncalling, I recall receiving a survey at the end of the 2009 season (or 2008, can't remember the exact timing).
Anyway, among the questions were some directed towards how I perceived the suitability / appeal of the current jumper and club song (don't recall the exact wording, but the thrust of the questioning was clear).
At the time, I assumed that all members would have received the survey as a matter of course, but apparently not, judging from some of the comments posted.
Therefore, while there are some hoping that Jebediah's source is wrong, I have a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach..........
