We're 'different' aren't we? ... at least I think we are and certain members here claim that's what makes us better than the slime and a host of others.
Why can't we have a set of playing jumpers the club rocks out in during the various home and away fixtures (and finals!) - will just add to the ubiquitousness (is that even a word!!!) of Freo. We can develop superstitions of what jumpers we win, lose, get injured in etc etc ...
Having said that:
- anchor should stay in the majority of jumpers in the majority i.e. big,
- any jumper that's anchor-less needs mini-anchor to keep me happy, and
- song stays (we chose it, we're stuck with it).

I'm going to the Doig and if there's no anchor on the jumper then they will hear it from the crowd. No
anchor, no Fremantle, we are a Port City, the anchor represents this fact.

Would be a bit of a slap in the face for our new major sponsor too.
Aren't Chevron one of their main competitors?
I remember a vote for the jumper you want to see us train in comp on the back of the July Docker.

If Pavs wearing a big or small anchor when he holds up the premiership cup, and the old or new song playing in the background it's fine by me.

I simply don't understand it. The moment we start on an upward trajectory we dump our traditions?
The jumper is a timeless classic; the basic design is simplicity personified and unlike every other new club since 1987 (with the possible exception of the Crows) we haven't needed to change it.
Changing the jumper and the song is a complete cave in, a craven admission that the club thinks every knobber that has ever said purple is gay, the mascot is stupid, the anchor is bad feng shui (?) and the players are embarassed to sing the song after a win (yes, I've heard that one several times) was really, in essence right.
I can't believe the club would do this without consultation. I certainly wasn't asked.

DrJon, I agree with your sentiments wholeheartedly — except the mascot is stupid. Grinder was awesome.

Taco; agreed - I miss Grinder.
It was the idea of a Docker that the flogs had an issue with.
