The three stripes IS a Fremantle tradition. As a matter of fact the new strips are modelled on the heritage guernsey we wore on a few occasions to celebrate the original Fremantle football club of well over a century ago.
Even though I would like to see the anchor still appear at least once during each season, I personally love the look of the new strips. We already have seen the boys donning these strips at training and I cant wait to see them in action. The clash red/white and green/white options may come in handy on the odd occassion too.
The timing is perfect. These boys, though I love them no more than any before, are changing the culture of the footy club and will take us to places we have oinly dreamed about for the past 16 years. They are creating a Legacy that these new strips will represent. When Pav lifts that Cup wearing the three stripes in the next few years all those who dont understand now quickly will then. Promise you.
As for the song, Ive always thought that all we need is maybe a lead in verse to compliment "Heave Ho". Along the lines of the "Wee Doch and Doris" North Melbourne version when they sing "Out we come...." before rolling into "So join in the chorus...".
I reckon it would work.

Gotta be a joke imissclive. With a president who is the head of a marketing company, I can't see our club destroying the 'brand' that has been built over the last 16 years. Would be a complete and utter disgrace if the jumper or song were removed without an enormous amount of consultation with the members.

leave our anchor and song alone it is what makes us different have just filled out a survey for the club and changing the song and the jumper was not one of the questions asked. when you look at the other club theme songs and how they got them there is nothing wrong with ours if it aint broke dont fix it long live the anchor this has got to be looked into

No joke and a survey was done of over a thousand members. The jumpers are definate, the song is still up in the air.
It found we love the white away strip and the colour purple, and we ambivilant about the song. personally I love the song!!!

Who did they survey? Any dockerlanders out there been surveyed? I wasn't. Perhaps they surveyed the sponsors and they felt they wanted a more corporate look about the club and the image of wharfies belting out a tune doesn't go along with that image.

Their voluntary surveys have about as much credibility as an online poll. If they're silly enough to follow up on that in any other way than what stock to buy for the shop, then I imagine they'll quickly find out the drawbacks to having a Loyal, Passionate and Proud supporter base.
The Purple, Green and Red Che posters are already on the way to the printers.
