Conversely the 'traditional' jumpers are getting hard to find and expensive. The 'traditional' home guernseys have become even more indicative of what the former FFC was - they are now symbolic of a membership that is loyal and proud of it's history. There is nothing BOLDER than something that symbolises a resistance to ignorance.

By-the-by, when everyone was painting a cranberry 'feature wall' in their homes I never did. But then again my local council never insisted on it nor did they ask me to 'move on' if I didn't. I thought the color, although attractive at the time, would look silly. Time has proved me right.

Cranberry? How about a nice mural of an Italian seascape. Now that'll never date

So we just need to wait for the new crew to hit puberty or the Steves to bugger off, and then we can get the anchor back?

Which do you reckon will happen first?

I personally could now live with that suggestion of the logo on the new chevron strip. The logo to me is a bigger issue than the jumper. The new logo is lifeless, dull and a basically a cover band, and not a very good one. The old logo has a soul and should be left alone. It would be a pretty good compromise and probably the best bit of pr the club could do. It wont happen though, it reeks of good sense.

As a uni student and being among the younger members of dockerland, I can tell you the jumper fails to strike a chord with those among my generation.

I've brought up the terrible jumper/logo changes with many mates and am yet to hear a positive comment, including weazle supporters who are more than happy to abuse their footballing betters.

There'll be mixed emotions when Freo run out in Rd 1. I hate the new jumper with a passion. I'm not sure how I'll go watching our players run around in them. I hope I can stomach it until the Steve's marketing campaign fails.

They have good size ex Freo emblem transfers in the store for half price, $10. I have bought four so I can use them on my car instead of the New York Yatch Club one for the next four years. I will also be putting up Pollys one if it gets made into a proper sticker.

Almost one hundred pages and no one has mentioned class. Isn’t that just so Australia in the 2010’s. The Dockers is a working class club with a working class history in a working class town (well once anyway if you mean working class in a sociological sense).
The Red and Green has been said to represent many things but I’ll offer two more. Red for the blood spilled on the field by our players and the Green naturally that stuff below our toes. The Purple was and always has been a pretty colour and our sop to the knobs that have run this club since the ‘90’s – bless their cotton picken souls.
And now we have an ex toaster, and one who helped the Toffs turf out one of the best Labor Premiers ever, who wants to remove our working class colours, logo and replace it with regal purple and a logo that wouldn’t look out of place at the local yacht club – if it wasn’t for the ‘D’ in the middle of it all. The worst logo in AFL history.
I know what will get this debate moving and have the toffs ****** in their pants and it’ll be a frontal assault on the next bored meeting. The revolution will be telecast.

Not true that class hasn't been mentioned before, but I agree it can't be mentioned too often. It's absolutely at the rock bottom of this.

As for 'one of the best Labor Premiers ever' ... it's great that we're both fans of Stephen Hill.

So much for free Wifi everywhere in Melbourne. Missed Dockerland. Was not able to get online past couple days. But I have had an interesting week or so over here. Having bumped into Ray Martin and Chopper reid. As well as talking to people in shops about our new logo, colors in the various AFL stocked shops I found. They all knew this change was coming. All workers in these shops said the new logo was schocking. Now the worst in the AFL. There was a fair bit of Freo stuff amongst other club gear on sale. I easily found 'old skool' logo caps, bar memorabilia, tin signs etc. They all said in the past two weeks the old Freo gear was being snapped up. Apparently, by Xmas all old logo stuff will be sent backk. To where, I wasnt told.

AFL shops will take another 15 bucks off jumper prices to make mens jumpers as low as 50 bucks soon.
At Queen Vic market, I got one of those macaroni Freo colored door curtains. Awesome.

In the street talked footy with people, a couple of folks thought it was great to have the big V in the AFL. They thought Freo did it to make more members in VIc.

Funny how much they seems to hate the budgies.
