1 week since the announcement. 12 hours since the last post on this thread. Is this it? The resistance crushed? Are you just going to sit back and grumble quietly, every now and then, that those premierships would have been more fun with an anchor?

I reckon we've all had a say and there's not much more to be said per se. It's more about refining the message now..
if I could sober up for long enough, I'd have a go at summarising the thread into a spittle flecked rant cunningly disguised as a blog. All I need is a reason to stop drinking...
and no-one's come up with one of those for 30 years now.

Least you made the effort to sober up...
There really isn't much that can be done. Protest at the AGM (if you get past the 12 ft wide maori dudes with earpieces), don't buy the gear, don't renew your membership (although we know this hurts us far more than them).
I wrote to the ABC, but they've given our freo friendly Geoff the week off due to Comm Games coverage. It's a conspiracy of impeccable timing. Don't calls these fools amateurs.
They're thoroughly professional fools.

I caught up with a friend this morning over coffee... haven't seen her for almost two weeks as I was away. She follows the Toast, has done for years.
We exchanged the usual pleasantries, then cut to the chase. She reckoned I'd be gutted and said she thinks it's apalling. Real footy person, is Kath. You wonder sometimes if we're a dying breed.

Drumbeat it is usually held on the day the elected board member is announced so shouldn't be until at least the end of this month, possibly sometime in November.

Right. After I've finished cutting deals in Liechtenstein and Andorra, then checked out my facilities in Kamchatka and caught up with a mate (a prince as it happens) in Bhutan I should be able to call in at Ulan Bator before the AGM.*
But there's no point in going as it's all done and dusted.
*Actually stranded in West Wanneroo.
