Fremantle have played their best game of the season so far, managing to score a goal in each of the four quarters and losing by a measly 26 points. In a marked improvement on their round 1 debacle, the Dockers took an early lead in the game, only to squander it in the second quarter when they collectively took a bit of a nap. Looking leg weary after what must have been a long pre-season campaign, Fremantle looked like slow, old men compared to the vibrant young Suns, giving up 7 goals in the second quarter to spend the rest of the day chasing. There were a few rallies from Fremantle, who looked like they’d put themselves in a position to roll over the top of the Gold Coast on a few occasions before giving up a soft goal or two back the other way. Nat Fyfe still managed to be awesome, Stephen Hill was involved in all of Fremantle’s good bits of football and Ballantyne and Walters were good for 7 of Fremantle’s 14 goals. Next up, the yellow and blue bastards from up the road.
Fremantle lost by 26 points.
