Fremantle have delighted the football, no sporting world, with a thrilling after the siren win over the much fancied Brisbane Lions, thanks to a Michael Walters', who hit the post with his shot after the siren to break the deadlock between to the two teams, testing the foundations of the Perth Stadium. At times it looked like was a football version of the Rocky movie. The quick, highly skilled Lions versus the meat carcass punching Fremantle. Freo went into the match favourites with everyone but their supporters, who stayed at home rather than risk the pain of another loss, and at times the ones who had shown weren't all that happy with their decision but as the game kicked up, Fremantle kept punching the dead cow and Brisbane just couldn't put any scoreboard distance between themselves and the Dockers. It's a long way from Brisbane and the Lions were cooked by the end of the last quarter, that's when Fremantle struck. A string of crucial missed shots on goals, edging them closer and closer until Michael Walters took a grab inside fifty in the dying seconds. His kick looked good and was good enough to get the Dockers home in the win of the year so far.
