I think it was fair enough of Bally to pinch the other player - how else was he to know if the other player was a girl, or not? With some of those nancies on the Geelong side, no one is all that sure.

The match review panel will have to seriously assess whether the pressure applied by the fingerpads when contacting the Geelong players skin was sufficiently severe to cause serious injury.

As counsel for the defence I'd go with the following options:

1. Attempted nipple cripple. It would be unAustralian to take this from our game.
2. Your honour - I had to pinch him to see if it was real. he looks like a ghost, smells like a ghost, plays like a ghost - I just had to see if it was real. Really.

Not taking a radio to the game and moving seats during the game I didnt see this.

Jeez, nearly choked when I saw the news at home and they said he was reported.

Grub, at the Tribunal my defense would be based on:

i. Understandable Response to Flatulence Attack
ii Lack of M/F Column in Budget

What amuses me is how come the umpire was so close to Ballas that he saw him pinch the Geelong player or did the Geelong player turn to the umpire and say "oww, he just pinched me." In which case shouldn't he be on report for a being a sooky la, la and putting the game into disrepute?

I would also add, as supporting evidence (to secure a 'beyond reasonable doubt' dismissal):

i. the cameras were unable pick up Stevie J's blow-off;
ii. Wojo, when his shirt was ripped off by The Subanator, was clearing wearing 2 pieces of nipple tape.

Not the first to be reported for this. Who remembers Craig Kelly from Collingwood.

Found this from WIkipaedia:

Craig Kelly is also famous for pinching opposition players to niggle them such as Richmond's Stephen Jurica, Hawthorn's Jason Dunstall and Geelong duo David Mensch and Gary Ablett, which Ablett stated in his new biography (2007).

i hope this is thrown out with prejudice when the MRP wakes up at 6 pm tonight. i find it akin to that time dean solomon got booked for striking when all he did was rub the other bloke's belly. like, usually the player who got hit would have gone down faster than an italian in the penalty area, but even he found it unbelievable. it was hard to see who was more surprised, solly or the other bloke.
i believe that was against geelong as well, actually...

and meanwhile, whilst the AFL scours the rules for what exactly they can string bally up for, leaping into a guy's head three seconds after he takes a mark and injuring him is still perfectly legal.
