Why cant we beat the Cats? We have had some good run ins with em in recent times. The pre season game at Freo Oval, we led for first 3 quarters. Think they were close to full strength and I remember Harves saying we didnt wanna play all our hands in that game. Have no reason not to believe the coach.
I couldnt get onto to Dockerland straight after the game, but am enjoying reading all the posts...

I'll bet sixpence that Mark Harvey brings out the reel of that memorable Anzac Day Friday night game of two years ago , in the lead up to this weeks game.
That game, when Pav hit the post was the lowest I have ever felt from a Freo loss.
With Sandi polling 3 Brownlow votes for the greatest rucking display in modern history and for Freo's leading all night it was just a travesty.
This week is gonna be the redemption with another three votes to Sandilands.
This game should be billed as "The Sandilands Redemption" .

Whilst the end result was good we did some ordinary thing's in the first half!! You guys need to rewatch the game and then you will know the Cats will be no push overs!!!!
Yes we are in with a chance, but they haven't won two premierships for nothing in the last 3 years...when the cat's decide to play they are like a lions pride feasting on the wilderbeast.
And from 5 minutes before then end of the 2nd quarter to the 15 minute mark of the 3rd they ripped us apart no matter what we tried at freo oval - dont lose sight of that!!! yes we can beat them if everything falls our way on the day, but dont bank on the win just because we beat two sides that finished in the bottom eight last year!!!!
Cats, saints, pies and doggies are still the top 4 sides and if we loose to the cats and saints in the next two games it wont be the end cause we will win the next two and still be 4 from 6 after 6 games....

I'm hoping the Hawks do some serious damage tomorrow. Don't they still owe us a favour or too for taking some of their players? Or is it the other way around. At the very least they should give those cats a very hard run.

The cats game will come down to their perception of our level of threat to their recent dominance, so the likes of scarlett and co are going to come out swinging, gouging and niggling. The 1st quarter will require basic head over the ball stuff and prey the maggots protect the man going for the ball. If we stay calm and keep away from the silly stuff our running players should break the game open. Expect Barlowe & Frodo to come in for some special treatment.

Yep, the cats will be coming over here to put the dockers in their place. The dockers will have to be ready for a tough game and if all goes well they might get over the line.

I think the great thing was hearing the Melbourne based supporters in fine voice during the last quarter.It came across during the telecast loud and clear ,well done melbourne crew.

We have already rewritten history.
This is the highest we have ever been on the ladder. Our previous best was 3rd in 1998, 2005 and of course 2006 when we finished in 3rd. Until this year we have never been higher than 3rd.
Interestingly, the 6 teams that are undefeated play each other this week. Bring on 3-0 and top spot on the ladder!!!!
