Well doesn't this sound like a fun afternoon of pre-game entertainment.

The dive, grass throwing, sock pulling, longer than 30 second taking 300th goal will be the highlight for me.

Bizarre situation really because he is still under suspension.

40 minutes? Seems excessive, but I suppose that's only enough time to squeeze in a 3 goal highlight reel on the big screen.

If they're looking for an end to name after him, I can think of one ...

Here's the latest breaking news from the Herald Sun:

JEFF FARMER TO BE HONORED AT THE MCG
Celebrating the most creative footballer who has graced the game, the Fremantle Dockers FC have joined forces with their mates inside the Melbourne Demons FC to stage a farewell celebration in honor of the legendary Jeffrey Farmer.

Almost 100,000 square pegs who have stubbornly refused to fit into the round slots that life continues to try and force them into are expected to attend. Jeff will be driven around the historic turf of the MCG in a black XR8 ute - lining the ground will be 483 Docker fans wearing their treasured #33 geurnseys (1 for every goal the Wizard had kicked) with 285 Demon fans hanging moons (one for every behind that he kicked during his career). 728 roman candles will be fired off (one for every mark that Jeff took) while he salutes the throng from the back of Polly's ute; 399 cannons will simultaneously sound (one for every tackle laid by the Wiz) with 2876 cans of Emu Bitter tossed into the crowd during his circuit (one for every disposal he made). To end the celebration, 257 past/present umpires will apologise collectively to the great maestro (for every free levied against him over the course of his career).

The AwFL's Manager of Integrity Services (Brett Clothier) and Respect and Responsibility Program leader (Sue Clark) are expected to make begrudging appearances on behalf of the league; Australian Prime Minister (Kevin Dudd) will also attempt to have a photo opportunity with the retired icon at some stage during the night.

The Australian Special Forces have been dispatched to Flinders Street Station in order to keep control of the expected grogged up crowd following the event.

The more distractions for Knights and Essendon the better - hopefully while all the fanfare is going on we can slip in quietly and mug them of the 4 points.
