dribbled goal

I'd like to congratulate Monkey Butler on a wonderful effort at winding me up this morning.
Kerry Stoke's man has managed to turn a controversial right wing rag into an even more right wing but boring rag and now he's turned the clock back to the drug covering up days where every Eagles loss has 5 positives and every Dockers win has a dozen negatives.
Expect a Fremantle player scandal by Wednesday or a West Coast Eagle at a children's hospital by the end of the week.

Am I going to have to find a paper somewhere to join the fun?

Don't bother yourself Guy - our sterling efforts in Melb meant that they could be a little less harsh on the Girls and happily bury them further inside the paper in what is usually 'our spot'.
What annoys me is that all the media outlets talk about Spud's winning goal being kicked with only 6 seconds remaining. This is untrue. He put boot to ball with 10 seconds remaining (refer the video clip that Shane has provided in another thread). The umpies used up the remaining four seconds with all their finger pointing. The 6 seconds makes it sound like a close run thing, but Spud had time on his hands. A comfortable win!

Yeah, righto... just had a small mac go sour while I read it. Another web forum I read features regular unintentional spoonerisms and the like, including one poor soul accusing another of 'jalopy'. Turned out, he meant jealousy.
Butler has a big jalopy.

they just keep getting simple facts wrong. i had a quick look on-line for eagles references and could only find the headline "40 year-old-man trapped in child's body". if they can't get selwoods age right what chance a good game report?

The whole thrust of the article on their 78 point loss was how good defender Brett Jones was.
The headline did not even reflect the result of the game.
Amazing, a new low.

A scrambled goal it was not.
Scrambled is how you would describe a Naitanui clean possession.
Murphy's kick bounced just short of the goal line, one bounce, before going through.
The term Scrambled opens up other connotations which is exactly what the author intended.

Ah, I just love getting angry at their tripe. I'm even going to jump into a taxi at about 6pm to see if there's any new anti-freo sentiment to get me wild.
How long before Fanta-pants gets on the FREO-speedwagon?

Speaking of not reflecting the result of the game, how's this for a weird bunch of stats.
Egrrls had 363 total disposals, 39 inside 50s - with a disposal efficiency of 72.92
Port had 282 total disposals, 43 inside 50s - with a disposal efficiency of 73.29
So the Egrrls had 81 more disposals with roughly the same disposal efficiency as Port, but somehow managed to lose by 78 points.

Thanks superswede; with those sort of stats they should have won comfortably. They also had the best two ruckmen of all time on the field. There must be something wrong with the coaching. Or are they just carp?
