was at the game yesterday with a number of Norths fans who bemoaned Hansen all day .... who happenned to be playing on Spud. Hansen was playing so loose on Spud that this allowed him to get into the game a bit more, not enough mind you to warrant a place in the best 22 but maybe enough to re-ignite some lost confidence.

What a good point you've made .
North's backline was worse than the Eagles.
Not only was Murphy given plenty of space , you would have thought Mayne had the plague.

murph woulda been a chance 15 years ago when all a full forward had to do was run straight at the ball, mark it, turn around and kick it..it's the other stuff that lets him down..but contrary to what gerard healy said, he has "carved" opposition up before...melbourne in '06

the point was made in one of the write ups (maybe The Age?) that it was Fremantles quick ball movement that really hurt the Roos. The ball cam in quick, and Mayne got in the right position while his opponent was blocking the space in the 50 that Mayne might lead into.
I'm not sure Mayne was loosely tagged, I just think we went end to end quickly and the kicking into the 50 was spot-on.
