Murph's coiff

It's obvious now -- Murph should never have had that #1. His form's grown back with his shaggy gold locks. Welcome back to the big time Spud.

Spud's hair won us the game.
After Chopper had kicked his 4th goal, I read the lips of some of the players and the convo went something like this:
Firrito - THAT WAS YOUR MAN!!
Wright - No way!! That was your man, I'm on Murphy!!
Firrito - THAT WAS MURPHY!!!
Wright - (pointing to Spud standing next to him) hello.. This is Murphy.
Firrito - NO IT'S NOT!!! THAT'S MUNDY!!
Duffield - No, I'm Mundy.
Firrito and Wright - Huh..?
Spud - duuuh, who am I again?

The idea that Ryan Murphy had anything whatsoever to do with us winning today, just because he happened to be in space 20m dead in front of goal and on the end of a freebie handpass, is possibly the silliest thing that's ever been floated on here.
Thanks, Spud, for kicking straight in the dying seconds when there wasn't an opposition player in sight and maybe your mum would have been hard on herself had she missed. But apart from that moment late in the second quarter when your desperate tackle ended up with a goal to Mayne, where were you?

I disagree Wiz. I think Spud really put in today and showed a few of his doubters (myself included) that at his best he's pretty handy.

He kicked 2 goals, helped out BIG TIME in the one you mentioned. We won by 4 points. Hope that helps, wizfan.

Aw, come on Wizfan. He could have butter fingered it & then he could have shanked it off his shin.
I just watched the highlights of the game on afl.com, which just consists of the goals and while the two that Murphy got were from freebie handballs, he was involved in 3 others. Not a totally dudsworthy day.
Just a shame the footy season hasn't started yet.

Look, I can't stand Murphy as much as the next bloke.
Cue the next bloke.

If we keep spud in, with pav it might be a bit crowded, with frodo, chopper, a grover or johno and also des he might get lost. On the other hand if we drop him to south freo he'll probably kick 5 forcing us to get him back in the team then we'll drop him again on form. A vicious cycle. If only there was a league between WAFL and AFL, then he might get a solid run.

Clearly the answer is to keep Pav out.

I love the Pav. But it is interesting to note that we often win without Pavlich playing.
Where was he yesterday, besides Bunnings Subiaco?
I did notice Murph do some other things around the ground. It looks like all of our players understand our new game plans and all seem well versed in where to place themselves around the packs.
Exciting to see all the young fellas coming on.
