The coaches don't really seem to rate Barlow, once again everyone except the coaches thought he was best on ground.

Interesting. The umps will be watching that leaderboard because they won't want the Brownlow to be too far adrift from the coaches' top 5 or so, meaning that any money on Barlow for the Brownlow will probably now stay with the bookies.
Still, Pav coming runner up to Sandi in our first premiership year wouldn't be an outcome too many of us would complain about.

AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award
|

Is there a conspiracy operating here or am I missing something? In the voting for this award in this weekend's game, Ebert was given 7 votes but no Docker was given more than 5 and Barlow of glendinning fame was only given 3 votes. Does Worstfold only vote for egirls?
Many players across the games get 10 votes (clearly 5 votes from each coach) and Sandi and Pav lead the count to date so some coaches think they aren't a waste of space on the ground. Is there a way to find our how each coach voted rather than the total of the two coaches?
Can anyone explain how this week's derby vote might reasonably have turned out as it did, or is this the opening of the door on a fullblown AFL - National Federal Police investigation into award fixing???

If Woosie cant' coach, train or recruit properly, what makes you think he can award votes properly

I think they are simply different perceptions. Harvey could only give one player from his side 5 votes.
Pavlich, Mundy and Duffield each had 5 votes. Given that only two of them could have got their votes from either coach, then the third got votes from each coach, as obviously did Ebert (7). The only certainty is that only one coach voted for Johnno, giving him 1 vote!

That was me - just hacked the website and gave 1st Johno the tick. I was thinking on giving one to Solly as well (for all the smiles in the box) but thought better of it.

Coaches votes for derby.

I find it very hard to fathom as to why but after the derby the coaches votes read like this:
West Coast v Fremantle
7 Brad Ebert (WCE)
5 Paul Duffield (Fre)
5 David Mundy (Fre)
5 Matthew Pavlich (Fre)
4 Aaron Sandilands (Fre)
3 Michael Barlow (Fre)
1 Michael Johnson (Fre)
Is this another Judd gate? How he could be considered B.O.G by both coaches is beyond me.

It looks to me like one of the coaches gave the Weazle five votes. Wonder which one would do that...

Not necessarily Bizkit , it could have been 4 + 3.
That would mean each coach allocated 5 votes to different players coming from Duffield , Mundy and Pavlich.
One of those players would then have had to accumulate their 5 votes by way of 2+3 .

Here is one scenario that delivers the published result:
Coach 1
Pavlich 5
Duffield 4
Ebert 3
Sandilands 2
Johnson 1
Coach 2
Mundy 5
Ebert 4
Barlow 3
Sandilands 2
Duffield 1
There are others that would involve different combinations for Pavlich, Duffield and Mundy

You are working under the assumption Harvs thought the Weazle was better than all but one or two of our players in our 40pt win. The more likely scenario for mine has the crab of a coach up the road giving one of his losers 5 votes.
