That's unfortunate for Des, I hope he recupes well.
So if he's on the LTI list does that mean a rookie will once again be elevated?

Or we no-longer are required to demote one when Grover returns ...
Games Des played in 2010 were pretty good - as help to Pav think he'll be missed up forward.
Go the kids

So which rookie won't be going back to the WAFL?
DeBoer is my pick. Or maybe Fyfe.
might just send Dessie a comeback when your ready card.

Fyfe is on the main list.
Out of de Boer or Silvagni

Which is REALLY unfortunate, cause I like them both. If it's Des' position we need to fill, I'd say de Boer but if we shuffle things around I like Silvagni in the back. Can we fit him in the back what with everyone coming back?

Rookies in alpha order:
de Boer
Pearce
Shepheard
Sibosado
Silvagni
Van Berlo
(Fyfe is on main list)
Barlow is club's nominated rookie so is now on the main list
#1 rookie 'ok' to be on main list as Solly on LTI list all season
#2 rookie 'ok' to be on main list now Des is on LTI
i.e. de Boer and SCOS can stay if want.
Round 12 or 13 (?) we can push another rookie on to main last as per the AFL rules.
So if Des back in rd 15 we'll have two rookie spots open for rest of 2010.
(I believe that we can swing them around i.e. could push DB or SCOS back and elevate JVB or Pearce).

De Boer and Silvagni stay put for now

ABC news is reporting that Des Headland is headed for surgery and out for another 8 weeks at least. He'll go on to the long-term injury list, meaning there is no need to return a player to the rookie list when Groves returns. That's good news (for SCOS and De Boer) ..... and bad news (for Dessie).

Did you see the post that started this thread, and the following dozen or so responses?
Or are you casting some sort of magic spell or something that's supposed to be protecting our winning streak?

Could be a harsh call on freoboy, I notice that the post title has changed, probably a merger going on.
There's another thread about BOB possibly being injured, if so then both can stay for 8 weeks being the minimum LTI requirement, then one can be permanently upgraded after Rd13.
I think its wrong that rookies have to be demoted as soon as the previously injured player begins playing WAFL. Anyone out for minimum of 8 weeks would have to play a minimum of 2 games at lower level. After 2 weeks even if they are not ready, they would start being considered at selection meetings, so for me rookies should be allowed to stay for 2 weeks after injured players return, unless they want to play the injured player immediately.

For mine. Des can go. Age 29 and the best years are behind him. Would love to see the kids getting more game time and Harves will hopefully be in the luxurious position to play a heap of them come next Derby, as it appears it won't be much of a game (going on last performance).
A reasonable mix of youthful exhuberence and matured skill will no doubt reap its rewards soon. But Im sorry, Dessy, you are the weakest link. Good bye.

I reckon Des, like Solly, has done a Captain Oates.
