Can we talk Finals yet

With the start we've had. What do we need to do to say the year was a success? Most would say play finals. What is everyones expectations from here. I'm thinking winning a final.
So when is it acceptable to talk finals? We are 5-1, so we need to win 6-7 more games to be assured a spot. We have 8 more homes games plus a few away games that we should win. It seems acheivable and well above my expectations.
I'll go out on a limb and say, barring a bad run of injuries and we should finish top 6 this year. We seem to have a good bunch of draftees and picked up some amazing mature age players.
The experience this year will put us in a good position to move higher up the ladder and push for a premiership in the next 2-3 years.

Look, we're not really thinking about finals at this stage. No-one at the club is. We've still got a young group, and it's really satisfying watching how well the younger guys are doing at the moment. We're just trying to stay focussed and stick to the processes that have served us well so far. All of the boys know what they need to focus on to keep our structures in place going forward. But right now, we're just taking it one week at a time and putting our faith in the game plan and hopefully that'll put us in good stead going forward.
(Having said that I reckon we'll finish 5th or 6th which gives us a home final, which we'll win and from there who knows...)

I'm already writing something to sing at the Grand Final after-party. And trying my best to keep it clean.
Speaking of 'yet' has anyone ever won the Brownlow in their first season of footy?

The next three game bracket is tough and will determine where we finish.
Right now the match committee is probably selecting the team for the games in advance.
With a Friday night game against Collingwood sandwiched between the longest road trip and a Sydney school ground I would think the players would be earmarked right now for those games.
I'm talking Suban , Ibbotson and maybe Ruffles here getting runs in some of these games.
Barring unforeseen injuries of course.
Having said that it is conceivable we win all three. We are playing well enough. Two wins and I think we would be top six finish.
We just have to hope we don't get struck down by the "dreaded West Coast Injury Curse "
Top four is my thoughts.

Before the season started, the measure of success was sustained improvement in the younger players leading to an overall improvement in the quality of the team.
As this stage we're miles ahead of that. Most football 'experts' had us somewhere between 7th and 14th with the majority saying we wouldn't play finals this year.
The youngsters from last year have continued to develop, we're still unveilling quality young blokes and we've shown depth galore. At the risk of getting ahead of ourselves, I think we can pretty much call this year a success already.
The future at Freo is looking very bright.

Injuries could change everything so it's premature to be thinking what to wear to the grand final. Having said that, when do the tickets go on sale - I want to join the queue now.
