Sliced bread, Rhys Palmer

He's back! And apart from shanking one shot on goal, is there anything he did that didn't look all class?
Not even Michael Walters could have bettered some of Palmer's kicks yesterday, so he's not only back but he's better!
How scary's that? Scary for the other 14 clubs, I mean, given that West Coast isn't a club; it's a marketing franchise for NiK Nat who's apparently been responsible for Evil Empire HQ shifting over 500 of those AFL dreadlock wigs in the past wk or so!*+
*Source: something I half remember reading in The West the other day.
+So THAT's what he's for.

I thought Chicken worked his way into the game nicely.
His disposal was impressive, just had a touch of the fumbles early - though this disappeared after he stopped bleeding everywhere.
Welcome back Rhys!

he looks to have matured alot since his rising star year, granted that was a long time ago. he seems a lot more comfortable on the ball and is looking around more looking for the good option. i seem to recall in his first season he was particularly good at being right where sandi wanted him for the hitouts. hopefully we see plenty more of that in the games to come.
i only hope he and 'brownlow' barlow have a mini rivalry happening on account of their similar age; each trying to outplay the other.

I was a bit disappointed in Staples. He copped his traditional cowardly derby hit to the head but didn't get metal staples applied to his cut. Has he gone soft?

21 touches after being thumped in the head is awesome. The fact that by the second half he was starting to use the ball better than he ever has is even more exciting.

He was superb.
That was no shank for goal either he was aiming for Michael Johnson and it went straight to the pack.
Rhys Palmer is back and in a big way. That was exactly the sort of performance from him I was hoping for.
His reading of the play and where to position himself was fantastic and his disposal was at his best.
Great stuff.

He got smashed about three times in the first 20 minutes.
There is a passage of play in the third quarter where he is running after an awkwardly bouncing ball with his head down into an oncoming opponent.
You would expect a short step from a bloke who has been smashed into a concussed state but he did not flinch.

He has great hands, so quick and has the ball on a string.

I thought he could've been better turning to the right - clearly that big gob of Anusol on his left brow was creating some extra drag. It was so large that for a minute there I thought the medicos had sticky-taped a suppository on his noggin.

Anusol!
Do they really do that? Or was BT inadvertently revealing his own intimate affliction? He tried backing out pretty quickly!
